Yes I want the Fed gone because 1) If you look at coins that are produced by The United States Treasury Department that is DEBT FREE MONEY because the government issues it itself! Now look at dollar bills, those are printed by the federal reserve which is NOT part of the government at all. So what happens is if the us government for example needs 10 billion dollars the fed will LOAN THEM THE MONEY PLUS INTEREST ATTACHED TO IT! That is NOT DEBT FREE MONEY IT IS ENSLAVEMENT!

The government should and can nationalize the federal reserve which would eliminate part of the national debt because the fed is number 1 in who we borrow money from and china is number 2.

Also the income tax that people pay, which should not because that is slavery, only goes towards paying off the interest on the national debt. It does not go towards anything else except paying off the interest on the national debt!

Anybody who wants to eliminate the fund is either living in a dream world or simply does not understand economics. You ask why... well, take Europe and the Euro for example. Greece is spending like drunken sailors, Spain has something like 1 in 4 people unemployed, and Germany and France are the two economic powerhouses. All, however, depend on the Euro, yet money police isn't centralized by a strong central bank like here in the United States. Sure, the United States has its problems... but those problems are due to years of Congress overspending and under taxing.

If you support Ron Paul, then you'll probably hate to hear that Congress didn't tax enough, but it's true. You pay your bills... if the American people vote in a Congress that spends like crazy (i.e. a war in Iraq and Afghanistan at same time) and then cut taxes... you're just fooling yourself. Once America starts paying for our programs and starts paying for our wars rather than pretending that tax cuts will create magic increased revenues, then people will continue to thing the can have their cake (tax cuts) and eat it, too (have all of their programs and military spending).

The Fed is able to manage money policy for the most part to keep us out of trouble. There are exceptions, and I think Greenspan's refusal to call the mortgage market a bubble and increase interest rates to reel it in is probably one of the biggest mistakes by a Fed Chairman in a number of decades. Regardless of the mistakes, you'd be hard pressed to find one credible/published econonomist that supports the idea of eliminating the Federal Reserve.

Source(s): Take a look at Europe and how the Euro is working out with countries like Greece, Spain, and possibly even Italy looking at defaulting while other countries might get kicked out of the Euro. What more of a source do you need?
