as having been a server for 4 years, i would say an average restaurant would be.. having a good selection of menu items from burgers, breakfast foods, beverages, salads, soups, deserts, appetizers and various dinners, at reasonable prices, not too high and not too low. you don't want mcdonald prices because its NOT drive-thru slopped together fast food. and its not high price wear your best attire either. the restaurant has a family, sit down, laid back kind of atmosphere. that would be my definition of an average restaurant.

An average restaurant to me is one that has a good basic menu, serves drinks, salad, dinner and desert and does everything but the drinks at a fixed price. It is surprising how many don't even do the basics well!

Pretty good tasting food from only a few good meals out of their menu, overpriced menu, small portions, greasy tables and seats/booths, decent service, hot or elderly waitresses.
