Is this covered by AppleCare?

I didn't drop it, I picked it up with one hand and noticed it. As you can see there is a hard shell on it, and the computer is less than a year old. I got it for Christmas.

I have AppleCare. Do you think this is covered?

    Nope, that is user damaged, not through normal use.

    it should be take it to your local apple store and they will tell you
