In The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo trilogy, why is Mikael Blomkvist nicknames Kalle?
I'm currently half way through the second of the three books and have come across an instance where someone mentions understanding why he was nicknamed "Kalle". I know this isn't very significant to the story, but I'm curious, so does anyone have any ideas as to why he's nicknamed this?

It was a do-gooder character in the Pippi Longstocking kids books

It's been a couple of years since I've read the books, but if my memory serves Kalle means bear, so he got the nickname due to his bearlike way of finding out information and pursuing a story. Once he got interested in a story, he wasn't going to let up.

And yet another chuckler from the hamster. cheers. Now we come to my favorite part of answering questions, comments to folks that leave messages on others questions. This one goes out to sugarstarz. If a question on YA is "gay", then that should prevent that person from posting a remark at all. I mean, if I were to find something that annoyed me or upset me, I'm not going to go out there and look for more of them, nor am I going to waste my time or energy in writing up a response to something that I didn't feel was worth my time. That is of course unless I was a point ho. So why did you respond like you did sugarstarz? Just for the two points? Next time, save yourself some trouble, and comments from angry humans like myself, and just hit your back browser button and move on to the next. We really don't care to see your non helpful, moronic, lame, etc. etc. comments. Mmmkay?
