Hmmmm - it is possible but probably not. Fingerprints are just the oily moisture exuded from human pores.

Naturally occurring fingerprints on paper would probably dissolve after being immersed for a short time. But if the fingerprint image was created by something like dried blood or oil (or ink), depending on the quality of the paper stock, it might last a little longer. A "ticket stub" could be anything from the cheap newsprint stock that a dollar theater might use all the way to the technologically advanced counterfeit-proof cardstock with built in security features (like holograms) that the NBA uses to print tickets.

I am famuiliar with the material that ticket stubs are made of. They are very durable and are designed to lasst for days in the pouring rain. (These are Canadian tickets). It is likely that the prints dissolve in water over time since they are a natural substance. It wouldnt surprise me however to learn that a forensics lab could easily detect them using chemicals and ultraviolet light... Those guys are amazing and can find just about anything.

Getting the fingerprint isn't a extensive project... a splash corn starch, a fan, a bite of sparkling scotch tape and there you bypass. The section approximately getting them pointed out is a little greater difficult. The police will help with that if there's a criminal offense. even if, maximum companies with the authority to run finger prints will want a reason to run them. additionally, they could want to strengthen the prints themselves.
