Any experienced web designers/Programmers out there I need help?
If I were to make a website that could be fictional with using as much memory as Google but with the functionality of say Yahoo Answer, what Programming languages would be best to create it? I hear HTML, then some say XHTML, some say CSS.
I want it to be easy to maintain (and to learn since I have to learn these languages first) and have the ability to be updated easily when I come up with new ideas.

(X)HTML and CSS are what web browsers understand. So in order to make a website viewable to a browser at all, you MUST know these 'languages'. However, they are more commonly referred to as markup languages, not programming languages.
(X)HTML tells what is what. For example, if you have a paragraph, you have 'p' tags around the paragraph, to tell the browser that it is a paragraph.
CSS is used for styling (X)HTML (the two are not exclusive; if you use one, you MUST use the other). You can use CSS to say what color those paragraphs are, what the background for them is, etc. CSS is, basically, how you make your website actually look interesting.
Now, as for something like Google or Yahoo Answers... You need to learn a server-side scripting language. These languages are actual programming languages, and they effectively 'spit out' (X)HTML and CSS. The one I most recommend is PHP, though a few others are ASP.Net (if you want to kill your performance by running on Microsoft web servers), ColdFusion, Ruby On Rails, and Python (through various web frameworks like Pylons or Django).
Edit 1: Oh, almost forgot. You also need a fast and optimized method of storing information on the server, for processing by the server-side scripting language (PHP, ColdFusion, etc.). This would be called a Database, and I would recommend MySQL. It's free, fast, and feature complete. If you're unsure of the licencing issues and 'future' of it, then you can go with MariaDB, which is a fork.
Edit 2: Brisray is right about content management systems. If you don't want to learn a lot of programming, and you don't want to effectively make a career out of programming websites, this is probably the way to go.

HTML or XHTML it doesn't really matter. XHTML is fully comliant with XML, HTML isn't. In general XHTML markup is stricter than HTML. CSS is just a formatting code for HTML and XHTML so you have to learn it.
If you want do do something similar to Google and Yahoo you have to learn those as well as JavaScript and a server-side language such as PHP, ASP, Perl, Ruby, coldFusion or one fo the many others.
HTML and XHTML with CSS produces static pages. JavaScript is a client-side language and can manipulate the page once it is loaded into the browser. For more versatility, using databases, saving files to a server, manipulating information sent to you by a user and so on you have to use a server-side language.
For ease of use you could a framework or CMS (content management system) that someone else has already written using a serve-side language, examples are WordPress, Concrete, Joomla, Drupal and a zillion others.

if you are going to need function of yahoo answer, you need to know at least php, mysql, javascript and CSS and html
It will take a lot of time to learn because it is really complicated. The best way to do it is to design it and get someone to code it for you. You can create a photoshop file for the design and have someone else to make the program for you. It won't be cheap, however if you want to do it yourself it might take you a year or two just for learning the languages
