CB Radio Help with dad?

Question

I'm 14 years old and have the money to buy a CB radio that I really want online. However my dad told me that when he was younger, his dad bought one and he told him that he could hardly even turn it on over all of the cussing. so now my dad doesn't want me to get one for that reason.

If anyone else has a CB radio and knows if the people are different now then please tell me.

CB radio habits are basically still the same. There are not a whole lot of regular cb users but truckers still use it. Monitor ch. 19 in an urban area and you will soon hear cursing, people playing music, sound effects, using waaaaaay too much echo/reverb, and people bitching about others.

I use CB over the road to hear where the cops and traffic jams are. It's mostly a lot of angry truckers yelling at each other for their driving habits.

There are a lot "Less" people on the Citizens Band than when you dad was a kid..... Yeah there's some cussing but its nowhere near as bad as it was......
