Been on Coumadin (Warfarin), have stopped taken it a week ago.?

I have my period and it's bleeding a lot. It's just going through . And I have to change pads and tampons regulary. My Question: What if it does not stop? I also have cramping and pain in my belly area. HELP! What do I need to do? Should I call my OBGYN tomorrow?

If it is seriously freaking you out now, call now. Because babies come whenever they feel like it, all ob/gyn practices have an answering service for after hours calls. Give your name, your doctor's name if it is a group practice, give a call back number and describe your symptoms and how long you have had them. Since you had been taking coumadin, you will also need to give them the last dosage/dosing schedule you were taking, the condition you were taking it for and the last day/time that you took it. Then sit tight and wait for a return call (within 2 hours, best guess). Whatever instructions you are given during the return call, make sure you follow them - up to and including going to the E/R.

While I've taken coumadin in 2011 for blood clots, I cannot tell you how it affects a menstrual cycle because my last one was in 2007. Seriously, make the call if you are concerned, okay?
