Can HR tell the employees not to talk about politics and religion on their lunch breaks ?

    YOUR employer, not "hr" = can make certain topics off limits in the workplace. It's not uncommon for politics, religion, and sports to be off limits.

    Yes, as they should. A place of work is not a place for you to inflict others with your religion. Talk abour gardening instead.
