Christians: Do You Find Obama's Gay Marriage Stance Disgusting?

i find it hard to understand anyone's support of homosexuality. when people think about homosexuality and what they do to one another sexually, it seems amazing to me that anyone is okay with it. something that unnatural is just not right to condone. next they will be condoning bestiality or cleptomania because someone declares they were born that way.

What on Earth, might I politely ask, is 'bisexual' marriage?

Anyway, I honestly don't think a person like yourself would be able to appreciate what a 'secular worldview' would actually look like. Quit pretending that you can.

Just as an added note, I would love to see civil rights extended to people who don't want to marry, but co-habitate. Where I come from, Australia (land of the sane... marginally so), such rights are already provided. De-facto couples already receive just about all the same rights as married couples (although it may make the bureaucracy a bit more difficult).

Polygamy... well.. I haven't yet established a viewpoint. Being a Christian and believer in Biblical scripture, I'm curious on as to where 'you' derive your vehement opposition to polygamy from. Polygamy is RAMPANT in the Bible.

If gays get the right to marry, then the polygamists in Utah will have rights, and older people will soon have the right to marry minors (like in Utah), and then people will want to marry their pets. Where does it end? With God in the picture or the ancient pagan gods being the first religions, marriages have always been done under the name of religion until the 1800s. Then courthouses could marry people. CHurches, temples and mosques don't divorce couples. Only the Catholic CHurch has annulments. And they are very hard to get approved and are rare. Civil unions make a mockery of the sanctity of marriage. Marriage is a sacrament. A vow said before others and before God.

What exactly is "bisexual marriage"? Do you even know what bisexual is? Bisexuals are attracted to men and women. If a man is bisexual, he will either marry and man (gay marriage) or a woman (heterosexual marriage). Do you think that bisexual want to marry one person of each gender? Because they don't.

Edit: Now you're generalizing. Bisexuals don't cheat any more than heterosexuals cheat. A bisexual person may do this, but a majority of them don't. I guess you wouldn't know this, though, considering you don't seem to know much about this issue in the first place.

Pedophiles are unacceptable because children cannot properly comprehend sexual relations. Children are not mature enough to handle such a thing, physically and emotionally. Pedophilia can cause victims to develop mental and emotional issues later in life. However, homosexuality does not hurt anybody, assuming it is consenting between two adults.

There are no exclusively gay sexually transmitted diseases. And many straight people have anal sex as well, and are subject to any problems that may occur with it. Many men who are straight also like having anal sex (with women, of course) because some people view it as more enjoyable. Also, not all gay men have anal sex, many gay people only have oral sex. According to AVERT, about one third of gay men have never had anal sex. With your logic, I suppose heterosexuality hurts people, too. Mmhm. I'm the hypocrite here. So you're saying that homosexuals who enter a loving, committed relationship are equal to pedophiles abusing children? You know how stupid that sounds, right? And it doesn't matter what other countries think. Most of the well developed countries have removed homosexuality from the list of mental disorder, likely including your own. Homosexuality was labeled as a mental disorder wrongly. Psychiatrists claimed that gays were crazy and could easily be distinguished from straight people, but this was proven wrong (See the book Hatred, Bigotry, and Prejudice: Definitions, Causes and Solutions By Robert M Baird Stuart E Rosenbaum.)

Edit....: Yes, and ALL of the ways you mentioned that homosexuality hurts people also hurts straight people. STDs, straight people get those. AIDS, straight people get that. Problems that occur because of anal sex, straight people get those. Do you honestly believe that only gay people can get such problems? 38.2% of straight men between ages 20 and 39 have had anal sex. 1 in every 5 men have had gay sex, but only 1 in every 10 people identify as gay. 32.6% of women between ages 18 and 44 have had anal sex. You CANNOT get certain diseases simply because you are gay.

In fact, heavily Christian and Conservative states have been known to be the largest issuers of pornography. Do you find pornography immoral, too? As far as homosexuality being a mental disorder, the APA said "Same-sex sexual attractions, behavior, and orientations per se are normal and positive variants of human sexuality—in other words, they do not indicate either mental or developmental disorders."

I found biology interesting. I also read the bible it came off as a harry potter book when i was 9 because it was so outrageously ridiculous to see talking snakes and talking burning bushes were true. I would not use the word disgusting. He is trying to garner the most votes possible and chose to try and appeal to all those who want gay marriage. As he obviously is not a Christian who reveres the bible, I am not the least surprised at what he did.
