PIctures not loading on websites?

I am sure this is an easy fix. I just switched to a Mac from a PC and I am trying to get used to it. I have noticed that often when I go to websites the pics will not load, it just shows a white box with a blue question mark in the center. A perfect example would be when I go to Facebook my friend's aviators show but none of the pics. Is there a setting I need to change?

Any help would be much appreciated.

    maybe you need to install flash player

    other than that make sure all your software is up to date

    http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/

    select mac os 10.6 and then flash player 11 from drop down menu

    download and install.. its about 10mb
