Since I haven't asked a hockey question in a while and....?

....I SUCK when it comes to predicting good trades and the trade values and all of that good stuff I'll ask you people this question. So I read a while back Detroit Red Wings GM Ken Holland's Top 4 guys he's looking at signing (If these players decide to leave their teams) are:

1. Ryan Suter

2. Zach Parise

3. Olli Jokinen

4. Alex Semin

Okay, I'm pretty sure a lot of Wings fans can agree with the first two and would LOVE to have them both on the team.....even if Lidstrom stays (I think he's going too). But, Jokinen and Semin? Could they benefit the Wings and how? Especially Alex Semin because, well, it's Semin. But Maybe a change of scenery is what the guy needs? Not sure. So What do you guys/girls think?

BQ* If your team isn't in the playoffs currently, which team are you cheering on to win the Stanley Cup?

I would give Semin chance. He can be a huge positive with proper coaching and if anyone can get him going it's Babcock.

Jokinen on the other hand is the worst player in history and the Wings shouldn't touch him. Plus he's creepy.

BQ: This is the first time in my life I don't have to answer this :D

I don't know what a class organization like the Red Wings see in Jokinen, but hey, I'm not Ken Holland. I'm kind of on the fence about Semin which may not matter anyway because I think he'll be staying in the Eastern conference. The other two would go a great way toward restoring the Wings standing as the elite team of the NHL.

More power to 'em. Now, if only such smarts were to be found in Philly.....

BA - You should know how I feel about the Flyers by now, so I don't have a team that's out of the playoffs. However, I have been hoping the Coyotes do whatever it takes to succeed in the desert, respect the Devils as an organization (second to the Wings in my book, btw), and picked the Rangers to win the Cup at the start of the playoffs.

I had only heard about Ryan Suter and Zach Parise. I hadn't heard about Jokinen (who I really don't like) or Alex Semin. Maybe a change of pace would do Semin good. Anything to get rid if Hudler! Briefly I'd heard the Wings might pursue Shea Weber but I think Nashville will sign him at all cost. I think Nick will stay one more year.

I'm not sure Brad Stuart wants to continue to stay in Detroit. I heard he would consider it if Lidstrom stays.

BQ* I am rooting for Phoenix. It's not doing much good. After them I am rooting for the Rangers. If it ends up New Jersey and Los Angeles I may not watch at all.

People are saying Semin could end up in Detroit as a replacement for Jiri Hudler, who everybody seems to think is headed to Washington. So I wouldn't be shocked if that happens. But I'm not sure Olli Jokinen is a fit in Detroit.

If the Wings want Suter, that means they'll probably end up parting with Stuart and Quincey, which I don't see happening. But Parise in Detroit is very likely to me.

I think they should sign Suter at least. Lidstrom is retiring soon. Probably not this year, but maybe next year. Suter could certainly help when Lidstrom leaves.Signing Parise would make a lot of sense and should help them. They would end up putting them on their top line. The Red Wings are getting older in age, and Parise is a little younger. Semin could be a cheap source in scoring. Who knows? He could have a comeback year.

Word around these parts is that Semin is headed to Russia.

The KHL is allowing teams to waive the salary cap for one player per team.

Jokinen hasn't made much of mark.

Semin or Jokinen would both be horrible moves. Lidstrom will retire. There is no point for him to play anymore. No reason to drag his career in the toilet by staying. End of an era. He knows it is over for good.

a million) Its large for the interest! this is honest, he remains decrease than settlement with Nashville, he left the group out to dry, its no longer the Preds fault for no longer including him quicker to their roster, i'm beneficial they could have enjoyed to have in October. Preds play a protective device, Radulov would be a attractive 6 there, i'm able to make certain him averaging around 0.5 ppg. maximum individuals do no longer understand that Radulov grow to be the only service for roughly 8 kinfolk, he had to pass the place the money grow to be greater effectual. optimistically he remains in North united states of america of america. 2) Like I advised you in September, Weber or Suter ;) 3) I asked my chum who's in first 12 months regulation on the college of British Columbia, and he advised me something alongside the lines of "James grow to be already punished for comparable crimes and served time for that. He hasn't dedicated comparable crimes considering he grow to be launched from detention center. the point of incarceration is to rehabilitate, no longer punish. thus time served should be considered." Essentailly, significant added years of punishment could be pointless.

It's possible for him to sign any of those players if they leave their current teams as you said.

I root for the Coyotes, but I don't see them going to the final being down 2-0 to LA.
