  • Why is Ben Bishop getting no love for Team USA?

Tampa Bay Lightning's goalie Ben Bishop, is currently ranked within the top 5 in EVERY goaltending stat this season. He's a solid netminder and while he may be inexperienced, I don't see why he shouldn't be at least the 3rd goaltender for Team USA in Sochi next year. Not to mention he's basically Godzilla on skates.

  • How do you feel about players calling out former players?

Scottie Upshall recently called out Bryzgalov, trashed him in the interview, and called HIM 'unprofessional' while playing together in Phoenix. Regardless of how you feel about Bryzgalov as a goalie, am I the only one that finds this kind of stuff bothersome? Have some class Upshall......Even if he's just playing 'mind games' himself do you feel like players nowadays have a lack of respect for Eachother? I just feel like what was Scottie trying o prove with these statements......because to me he proved he's a bitter, classless 'grinder'.

  • What is the craziest goal you've ever seen by your favorite team?

Darren Helm's goal last night vs the Islanders.......just wow. Incredibly insane, especially considering the guy has been out for over a year with a serious back injury!

For those who have yet to see it: http://youtu.be/r0XK9wNqlGo

In my lifetime as a hockey fan, this is by far the most insane goal I've ever seen my team score. So what's yours? Thanks!

  • Former NHL players filing lawsuit (concussions)?

    http://ca.sports.yahoo.com/news/apnewsbreak-ex-nhl...

Only a matter of time before this was bound to happen. Ever since the whole NFL concussion fiasco broke out that is. Questions:

1.What do you think about this? Think these former players have a case? Do you agree with these former NHL players?

2.Could this potentially hurt the NHL's popularity? Or have any kind of effect on the sport?

    3. Any guesses of who the Former NHL players are that filed this lawsuit? I know we have little info, but there's no harm in speculating.

  • Really random Question about possibly throwing games?

I've always thought about if this has ever happened.....bare with me it's hard to explain this kind of scenario, but I'll do my best!

So 3 teams are involved. (I'll just pick the Stars, Hawks, and the Blues just to use as a random example). The Blues have already clinched the playoffs, they have nothing to worry about, and they play the last game of the season against the Dallas Stars.

The Chicago Blackhawks are currently not in the playoffs. The ONLY way the can get it that last playoff spot, is if Dallas loses this game vs the Blues.

The Blues HATE the Blackhawks, and vice versa. So 'what if' the Blues who have nothing to lose in this game since they're sitting pretty.....lost on purpose?

If the Blues let Dallas win this game, they know the Blackhawks playoff hopes are OVER. Chicago NEEDED Dallas to lose. So basically the Blues threw the game because they didnt want the Blackhawks, their rival, in the playoffs.

Has a scenario like this ever ACTUALLY happen? And even if it did, how could you prove a team purposely losing?

Remeber, all these teams I just randomly chose. I chose the Hawks and Blues because they're rivals, and just chose Dallas as that extra team. Random Question I know, but something I've always wondered about. Appreciate any and (most) feedback! Thanks! :)

BQ: on my birthday this year, My favorite goaltender in the NHL on twitter DM'ed me, and wished me a happy birthday and made my entire WEEK!!!! That goalie was Roberto Luongo. What has been your favorite experience with a pro hockey player???

  • Some Opinionated Random Hockey Questions?

    1. What NHL Players come to mind (past and present) when you hear the word "Trashy"? And why?

    2. What NHL Players are/were the biggest "Whores" (past and present) and why?

    3. What NHL Players (past and present) had drinking problems and what kind of stories came from them?

    4. What NHL Players (past and present) have been known to be the biggest hypocrites? Say one thing, yet do another? Or try to act a certain way, but end up acting completely opposite?

I'd appreciate to hear why you name the players you name.....give me stories. All Answers can be about on the ice And/Or Off the Ice behavior. Thanks!

  • What will it take for Kenny Holland to get rid of Kyle Quincey?

In 3 games, Quincey has 0 goals, 0 assists, He's a -4, 6 PIM's, and just plain sucks! I thought Hudler was bad last year......but Quincey is a Defenseman and in a crucial year for the Red Wings like this, we need GOOD Defenseman. I'm to the point where I'm missing Brett Lebda....I'd take him over Quincey anyday! So what will it take to get him OFF of our team? Wake up Kenny!

A more thorough look at his stats the past 3 games:

BQ* Ian White is now hurt. Out 2-3 weeks.....Is it just me or do the Wings for some reason always seem to get the most Injuries ALL at the same time? Here comes the Detroit Griffins! (Why couldn't Quincey have gotten hurt?)

And Detroit Red Wings Damien Brunners goal was beautiful? Have you seen it yet? Because it's pretty beautiful :)

    1. Is it safe to say Terensenko is a safe nominee for the Calder Trophy?

    2. Is it safe to say Luongo is better than Schnieder?

    3. Is it safe to say a so called "fan" of a certain amount of teams (6) true colors came out tonight? Lame

  • I'm back and so is Hockey?

    Questions:

    1. Do you think the NHL could possibly have any players that were smart at cheating like Lance Armstrong was?

    2. If you found out your favorite current player was cheating......would you give him a second chance?

    3. Every Hockey fan is Obviously allowed to like other teams and not just their Home Team. For Example my back up team has always been Philadelphia. But is it possible to like SIX different teams? I just feel like that would be WAY to hard to be a fan of SIX teams with 90+ players all together on those teams. Would You agree?

    4. Is Scott Gomex really going to be a San Jose Guppies?

BQ* Name the biggest Cheater you can think of in all Professional Sports.....Cheating as in, cheated to gain points and stuff! :)

    Great to be back!

  • Thoughts on the "Russian Five" Reuniting for the 2013 NHL Winter Classic Alumni Game?

Well, as of right now, it's only Four. Larionov, Fetisov, and Federov will be playing for the Detroit Red Wings vs The Toronto Maple Leafs for the Alumni game. Konsintinov will also be attending, but Kozlov is Iffy right now depending on the 2012/2013 KHL Schedule. In addition to the Russian 5 (Or 4)....The "Grind Line" will also be playing. Kris Draper, Darren McCarty and Kirk Maltby. Not to mention Luc Robitaille and my favorite player ever, Chris Chelios. So, any thoughts on how completely cool this is? I for one, am excited.

    Full List:

    http://www.detroitnews.com/article/20120802/SPORTS...

    Questions:

    1. Who in your opinion was the best player out of the Russian 5?

    2. Anyone dissapointed in this years list for the Alumni Roster? Anyone missing? I personally think it would have been cool if Stevie Y and now Lidstrom could have played in it.....

    3. If your team hasn't had a Winter Classic yet, who are your Top 3 players you would want on your Alumni Roster? If your team already has played in the Winter Classic, what players were you most excited to see play again?

  • I'm back! And I got some Hockey Questions?

So after giving up on Holland making any big moves this year......I started to look at the 2013 UFA list. There is a LOT more talent up for grabs next off season, with most likely All 30 NHL teams trying to make some kind of offers to. Yes, I know it's a year away.....but I'll ask this question anyways :)

Some Big namers on the UFA list in 2013 are Corey Perry, Jarome Iginla, Ryan Getzlaf, Scott Hartnell, and Alexander Semin. I'll also include the Full list:

    http://www.capgeek.com/free_agents.php?year_id=201...

    QUESTIONS:

    1. Who would you want your team to pick up out of all of these Big Namers (Besides a/the player(s) on your team that will become an UFA in 2013)

    2. If you do have a player that will become a UFA in 2013 on your team as of right now, Would you part with him? Why or Why not?

    3. Who will be the #1 most sought after UFA in 2013? (example: Brad Richards in 2011, Zach Parise & Ryan Suter in 2012).

BQ* How confident do you feel about your team going into the 2012/2013 season? And why do you feel this way?

    Thanks! :)

  • Speaking of the Hockey Hall of Fame?

What has been your favorite Class inducted into the HHOF? And Why? Also, what has been your least favorite Class?

For me, Class of 2009 was my favorite. Stevie Y, Luc Robitaille, Brett Hull, and Brian Leetch. Obviously because it was basically the 2001/2002 Red Wings together again. (With the exception of Leetch, who was a great Defenseman and one of the best American Defenseman ever).

Least favorite would be the Class of 2010. Ciccarelli, and first women ever to be Inducted Tammy Granato & Angela James. Not trying to sound offensive or make anyone mad....but, really? I'm all for women playing Hockey and getting recognized for their accomplishments...but I personally just felt that they potentially could have taken those 2 spots from other deserving Ex-Players. It was just a very boring list that year in general to me. Sorry

  • So is the Red Wings GM Kenny Holland sleeping or something?

So far the Pittsburgh Penguins GM Ray Shero has been busy making all sorts of deals (Jordan Staal for Sutter, Michalek for Phoenix Coyotes prospects, and acquiring goaltender Thomas Vokoun). Rumors have started to speculate they will also try to get Parise, and Suter. Or, at least one of them.

My Question basically is where is Kenny Holland and why is he not busier during this time? The Wings just lost their best player and best Defensemen Nick Lidstrom, and I know some things take a while, but I'm worried if he waits to long things might not work out the way he wants them too. So what are your thoughts? Should he be more active right now? Or am I just being paranoid?

  • Since I haven't asked a hockey question in a while and....?

....I SUCK when it comes to predicting good trades and the trade values and all of that good stuff I'll ask you people this question. So I read a while back Detroit Red Wings GM Ken Holland's Top 4 guys he's looking at signing (If these players decide to leave their teams) are:

    1. Ryan Suter

    2. Zach Parise

    3. Olli Jokinen

    4. Alex Semin

Okay, I'm pretty sure a lot of Wings fans can agree with the first two and would LOVE to have them both on the team.....even if Lidstrom stays (I think he's going too). But, Jokinen and Semin? Could they benefit the Wings and how? Especially Alex Semin because, well, it's Semin. But Maybe a change of scenery is what the guy needs? Not sure. So What do you guys/girls think?

BQ* If your team isn't in the playoffs currently, which team are you cheering on to win the Stanley Cup?

  • So Daniel Bryan is basically Chris Benoit?

So the two most Iconic movies Chris Benoit is known for is....The Flying Headbutt:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8c93Dyj9Ro

    And The Crippler Crossface:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUAnJ2nzwVs

    Daniel Bryan does both.

    Crippler Crossface: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUAnJ2nzwVs

And tonight on Raw....he did the Flying headbutt on CM Punk.

Now, I realize how touchy the subject of Chris Benoit is considering what happened and what he did. BUT, to steal 2 of Benoit's moves? As a fan of the WWE/WWF for 13/14 years......I find it in very poor taste. Thoughts? (Oh and I realize Wrestlers have been known to steal other Wrestlers moves before.....but to use TWO of them in ONE match? Come on!)

  • Has a Hockey Player ever gave himself his own nickname?

I know this is random. But, The Reason I ask is because NBA LA Laker's Basketball player Ron Artest is making headlines. He elbowed a player during a game and is suspended 7 games. I should mention, "Ron Artest" is not his name however. He decided to Change his Name to "Meta World Peace" (Before this Elbowing Incident took place.) His name on the back of his Professional LA Lakers Jersey, It DOES say "World Peace". So he is Formerly known as Ron Artest I guess. And yes, I am being dead serious and not making this up lol

So, Even though this player Really Changed his Actual name....I know NHL Players have had/have "nicknames" like:

    "Mr Hockey" Gordie Howe

    Maurice "The Rocket" Richard

    Eddie "The Eagle"

    "Sid the Kid" Sidney Crosby

    "Alexander the Great" Alex Ovechkin

Have all of these or other NHL Nicknames been made by the Media and/or Fans? Has any Hockey Player given themself their own nickname? Discuss.

Also, Has any Hockey Player Ever Changed their name like B-ball player Meta World Peace (Formerly known as Ron Artest)? And I don't mean a name change example like a Russian Hockey Player tweaking his last name because of pronounciation Issues or something, I mean a "Cocky and Arrogant" Name Change?

  • Since Round Two of the Playoffs is right around the Corner?

What Conference Matchups do you think will be the MOST Entertaining/Exciting/Interesting to watch?

The West, which is all planned out already. St. Louis Blues vs LA Kings and Nashville Predators vs Phoenix Coyotes.

    -OR-

The East, which okay, hasn't been figured out YET but We know the Flyers will be playing.

Also add why you think so. And, which Conference was more exciting to you during the first Round of these playoffs? East, or West?

  • Is there any possibility of either of these two Scenerios happening? (Hockey)?

Those of you that know me know that I'm not good when it comes to Cap Space, Cap Room, basically anything dealing with Contracts and money. ( I seriously suck at math & numbers). So, For you Smart people out there that know this stuff....."Could" either of these 2 scenerios happen this off season...

    1. Vancouver keeps Schnieder, and Luongo get's traded even though he has a Lengthy & Huge Contract?

    2. The Pittsburgh Penguins decide to trade Evgeni Malkin due to whatever reasons?

I know Luu has a NTC, and I know Malkin is an Important part of the Penguins organization, but, could it happen? I do know stranger things have happened before lol

  • A Mature Question to Hockey Fans involving Pens/Flyers series....?

My mom and I were talking about the series after the Flyers won. She brought up a good question.

Even though Pittsburgh came back and won those two games, do you agree that because of game 3, and all of the stuff that happened within the Penguins organization, (The Antics of Crosby, Letang getting thrown out, the dirtier hits), that that specific game was a Series changer?

I'm honestly not trying to say this in a bad way, But, Basically, the majority (IF not all) of the other 29 fanbases were rooting against the Penguins, and even more shocking, rooting for the Flyers. Mainly, because of game 3.....I'm sure feelings will change for some towards the flyers from here on out. What I'm basically asking is do you feel Game 3 Impacted the outcome of this series? And If so, Why do you feel that way? Also, I'd prefer some mature, adult conversations while discussion this but I know that most likely will not happen....I'm all for trash talking, but not so much the baby names and stuff lol

  • When your team makes the playoffs?

Or, if not this year, when your team HAS made the playoffs in the past, have you ever kind of cheered for the team that knocked out your favorite team? I ask this, because I was blown away by the Nashville Predators, and I'm not "rooting" for them 100%, but, that COULD change depending on whatever upcoming match ups will happen. So I ask you this.....have you ever done this before? I can see why some fans wouldn't.....(Philly/Pittsburgh,) And I NEVER have rooted for the Sharks in the past nor will I in the future to be honest....but Nashville has got me thinking a bit about this.
