Speaking of the Hockey Hall of Fame?

What has been your favorite Class inducted into the HHOF? And Why? Also, what has been your least favorite Class?

For me, Class of 2009 was my favorite. Stevie Y, Luc Robitaille, Brett Hull, and Brian Leetch. Obviously because it was basically the 2001/2002 Red Wings together again. (With the exception of Leetch, who was a great Defenseman and one of the best American Defenseman ever).

Least favorite would be the Class of 2010. Ciccarelli, and first women ever to be Inducted Tammy Granato & Angela James. Not trying to sound offensive or make anyone mad....but, really? I'm all for women playing Hockey and getting recognized for their accomplishments...but I personally just felt that they potentially could have taken those 2 spots from other deserving Ex-Players. It was just a very boring list that year in general to me. Sorry

Update:

Chuck, I know the rules of the HHOF......but they still "could" have taken those spots away from other players. I knew my opinion would get people mad but it's my opinion. And thanks but I already know it's not the NHL Hall of Fame....if it were Tretiak would not be in it.

I think either 2007 or 2009 would be my favorite, both years had some great inductees.

    I don't really have a least favorite, but 2010 definitely wasn't a shining year.

Honestly, this years class is my favorite. Joe Sakic and Pavel Bure are two of my all time favorite players. I knew Super Joe would get in his first year of eligibility; he's such a special and clutch player. As for Bure, he, his family, I, and other fans of the Russian Rocket have been waiting for his turn to enter the HHOF for a while. He was one of the most explosive players to ever play.

As for least favorite, I've gotta agree with you on 2010. Congrats to the women, but it was an uneventful year for many NHL fans.

a million. of direction, Dino had 600 targets, to no longer many gamers can say they scored 600 targets. 2. specific, it would be exciting. 3. i do no longer recommendations, I advise this is the Hockey corridor of recognition, this is open to all genders, so why no longer? 4. easily no longer, this is basically approximately like inducting a participant who's close to death and needs to savour the 2nd, it is not ideal. Pat Burns grow to be a great head coach, the project grow to be that he grow to be fired from his first 2 jobs, not one of the coaches in the HOF have been fired, plus Burns basically has a million Stanley Cup Ring, real he has 3 Jack Adams Trophies yet learn him to Al Arbour he has 4 Stanley Cups and has made the playoffs the final public of his training occupation. 5. No, i think like as quickly as your retired, your eligible for the HHOF, if it takes you 50 years so be it. 6. little question JR, he's had 500 targets an exceedingly useful occupation to. Osgood is yet another, he's 10th all time on the prevailing record and he nonetheless has 5-10 years till retirement. Doug Gilmour is yet another, 450 targets, holds the main factors and maximum assists checklist in Toronto, the only difficulty is that he's performed for dissimilar communities.

This year is my favorite. With Bure and Sakic, two personal favorite players. Bure should have been in his first eligible year.

And also great to see Oates get in as thought he really helped the initial success of Brett Hull while being under rated himself.

last year was my least favorite. I really thought it was Bure's time then. Instead it seemed to be someone because he was the son of a true HHOF and someone because he wore a TML Jersey.

This is the Hockey Hall of Fame we are talking about not the NHL Hall of Fame. Each year 4 men and 2 women can be inducted in the Player category. That doesn't mean they have to induct that many but only that they can't induct anymore. So the women inductees do not affect the men at all.

The best class of all was 1999. That is when the Hall did what it was supposed to do. It selected only one player, one who truly deserved to be there. The one time that there was no debate over the selection.

Three years in particular stand out as poor selections. 1990, 1993, and 2005. In 1990 there should have only been one of the three selected. I loved Fernie but how did he and Barber get to be in at the same time as Gil Perrault. In 1993 it looks as if they couldn't decide to select no one or select the most non deserving members at once. And in 2003 when they decided to select the best non NHL player since the formation of the NHL and the least deserving member from the NHL at the same time. If you haven't heard of Kharlamov ask Kovalchuk why he wears number 17.

I agree the 2010 class was a black mark on the HHOF.

The Best was last year as the first Billionaire goalie was recognized for his accomplishments.

Source(s): For a different reason though.
