I would like to tell you a little about myself. I am just a few months shy of retirement and have decided that I am going to need something to do to fill my days when I do retire. I am no hockey expert and am certainly not a writer but I am a hockey fan and a fan of hockey history. My love affair with hockey began when I was about 8 years old in 1955. My dad was in the military and we were stationed in Germany at the time. It just so happened that Canada’s Penticton Vees would play the upstart Russians for the World Championship in Dusseldorf and my dad took me to the game. Through various exhibition games played in Europe prior to the championship series and in the series itself the Vees had built quite a reputation for rough play and the Russians were totally intimidated. The Canadians came out banging and never let up. They skated away with a 5 - 0 victory. What excitement, what a thrill - I was hooked and have been a fan ever since.
Help! Flames need a top 6 forward, preferably a centre. Any ideas?

Now that the Jets have acquired Jonas Gustafsson I doubt they will sign Chris Mason. What team or teams might be interested?
2 AnswersHockey9 years agoThe Calgary Flames did not give Blake Comeau a qualifying offer effectively making him a UFA.?
He scored 5 goals and added 10 assists in 58 games last year and was paid 2.5 million. I think the stategy is to now sign Comeau as a UFA at a much reduced salary, say 1 million. What do you think?
