Any chance Parise could wind up in Calgary?

Honestly....no. Zack has been pretty clear he wants to be on a contending team and the current Calgary team needs a serious overhaul of talent. I think teams are very wise to suggest to their fanbase they will make an offer to a top free agent, Calgary fans can hate Parise and not the team for not taking their "offer" and wanting to believe the franchise is doing all it can to turn things around. That is good business but if we are being practical and completely honest Calgary isnt a realistic option for Zack.

Teams will make offers, but Parise doesn't have to follow the money. He is going to take a long look at what the team currently has, what they are putting together.

He is going to be interviewing other teams, not the other way around. He is going to want to know that the team he joins will put together a playoff caliber team that has the components to make a consistent legitimate shot at the Cup.

Unless Parise knows exactly where he is going, him and his peers, are going to wait for the dust to settle for the first few days and find out what teams will put together for Cup runs.

Only if he makes a mistake and gets on the wrong plane. Otherwise he won't get there.
