Help! Flames need a top 6 forward, preferably a centre. Any ideas?
OK, this worked yesterday and we got Wideman. Now looking for a forward around 3.5 to 4.5 cap hit who can play top 6 min and is around 26 years old.
For Chris - yes Flames do have Cervenko but still need another so Cammy can go back to wing.

I guess depending on money, Jokinen is a top 6 forward and would be their 1st line centre. If they don't re-sign him and he goes out to the market, he'll pick up a ton of money. Lots of teams would want him. It's not easy to find a big 1st or 2nd line centre.
Calgary is desperate for a centre so I think they should try to keep Jokinen. Right now, what do they have:
Cervenka - Unproven
Backlund - Hasn't really done much at the NHL level.
Jones - He's ok but certainly not on the 1st and 2nd lines.
I think Jokinen fits in nicely as their top centre (unless Cervenka can take his place).

Don't they already have a top 6 center, 3.5 million cap hit and is around 26 years old in Cervenka?

Take Langkow back! We can just play hot potato with him. He's a little over 26.... but a solid center for sure.
You could always chance for Mueller and hope he stays healthy.... but that's doubtful. He will likely be cheap, but no complaining if he misses half the season.
