Manufactuer's warranty covers any fault due to the manufacturer. I.e. any fault not caused by the user.

The warranty covers defects in manufacture. It doesn't cover abuse or misuse. You can't drop it in the sand at the beach ot pour a keg of beer on it.

I'm wondering why you bought a pro level camera ?

This promotion is applicable to compact cameras, digital SLR bodies and Nikon digital SLR kits.

To take advantage of the extended warranty you must be a resident of the UK or Republic of Ireland and are required to register the product within 30 days of purchase. The camera or kit must have been distributed by Nikon UK & Republic of Ireland.

For details on how to register on-line please click here. Alternatively please ring 0800 408 5060 to register your details over the phone.

When making a warranty claim you must provide proof of purchase, European warranty card (provided in box) and extended warranty certificate (which will be received after registering within the welcome pack).

As this is a Nikon UK & Republic of Ireland initiative it is only supported by authorised UK & Republic of Ireland repair facilities.

All solus lenses, accessories and scanners will continue to have the advantage of a one year warranty.

In addition you will have the opportunity to purchase an additional year which will allow you to receive a three year warranty. This three year warranty will have the added benefit of covering you for accidental damage and theft for the whole three years of the warranty.

    Manufacturing defects

Abuse is not covered; which would mean dropping your camera etc. is not covered.
