  • Employed or Self Employed?

I'll try and keep this brief. The question being on the basis of my Tax Return. Here goes....

I work on behalf of someone (self employed). The person i work with gets paid by the job from the large corporate firm also being self employed. I get paid a day rate by the person i work for/with. This all sparks off from when someone i know used to work for the guy I'm working for/with now and he always used to ask for invoices. He never asks for invoices from me now even though he used to be really strict with the other guys that worked with him on invoices.

I had a set time from the guy i work with to start work. Have a lunch break. He tells me what to do. Surly if i was self employed i could do what i want with starting work, etc. This brings me to the question am i actually employed or simply self employed. I get paid at the end of the week by the guy. It's exactly the same process from an employed background which i have done plenty of in the past.

Some advice would be greatly welcome.

    Thanks!

  • What injury have I done to my foot?

I was playing bowling earlier and felt a pain on the front part of my right foot. I lent my foot forward so my toes would bend and the pain was really bad. Now I have a pain lying down with pressure off my foot. Walking around can only be on the back part of my foot although it does send a pain to the front / source of the pain. Thanks

  • Using a router with the sky phoneline?

I bought a new smart tv today and want to run an Ethernet cable from the router to the tv. I have found that I have a phone line in my room but its the sky one. Would I be able to bring the router in my room and use the correct filters using the sky phone line they put in. I have plugged the phone in to check if the phone line works and it does but the router doesn't pick up any Internet although it works in other phone lines around the house. Any help would be great

  • Am i in a good position to sue (copyright over photographs)?

In a brief description this is the story. I attended court once as a witness as i took some photographs of some people being cruel to an animal. After i gave my evidence i left court and was approached by a local news agency. He said he wanted to use / buy the images and didn't explain who he was going to sell them to. I said yes to selling them to him thinking he was going to use them for local papers to the agreed sum of £75. Over the next two days i found out that he had published them to a number of national newspapers both online and in the papers and even on ITV local news. I had wrote an email to him saying look you didn't explain to me you were going to put them in alot of the nationals and he sent me another £15 to sound nice although he had already made triple this sum. After this was done i had left the situation knowing i had learnt from this although another news agency rang me up and straight away explained who they were and the price plan they offer for the images.

I found out that a month later the images were used again and he didn't even let me know or even give me more money. i spoke to other news agency and they said he owes me money but didn't even talk to me.

Over one year later the images have been published online again without me knowing or offering me any money. He had sent the images to the paper again. This being the 2nd time without telling me.

Would this be a strong sue case against copyright of my images. I am new to newspapers photography so i feel like i have just been taken advantage of because he saw i was young and new to it all and wouldn't mind an extra bit of cash in my pocket.

  • What is the best program to plan multi drop routes?

I have just started work experience as a multi drop driver. I know City Link can plan the routes for me but I'd rather do it myself. As i am new i don't know the places i am going to as sometimes on your route you will start to know a few places. Is there a program i can use rather then AA maps, TomTom maps, etc? Or what is the best way?

  • is there anything unfair about my dismissal?

I need to clear up something about my work that is only for the summer.

I have been working for a marquee company that is run by a couple which are very relaxed people. I texted my boss about having a day of for a family members birthday which i only left in a day in advance which i can see is not overall right but alot of people at work are always having time of so thought in this case it would be fine as i have had no days of since the 3 weeks and always doing over 8 hours a day some times doing 12 hours. I got a text later back in the day saying not to come in anymore as i said i'll be in on Tuesday. I then texted them back saying if i'm going to loose my job over this birthday then i'll come in so i haven't refused any work. I then texted them back saying what's the reson for my dismissal and they said

"you were on a trial period which is now over and work has gone quiet. Choosing a party over work is not acceptable. We now have someone to cover you'.

I was never stated to when my trial period stated and ended in the first place and i was never given a contract about holiday in the first place. I have been reading up that every employer needs to give the employee and principal statement about a number of things. Holiday, pay names etc. Is the company breaking anything on terms of me knowing where i stand in the company such as holiday and trial periods?
