Using a router with the sky phoneline?
I bought a new smart tv today and want to run an Ethernet cable from the router to the tv. I have found that I have a phone line in my room but its the sky one. Would I be able to bring the router in my room and use the correct filters using the sky phone line they put in. I have plugged the phone in to check if the phone line works and it does but the router doesn't pick up any Internet although it works in other phone lines around the house. Any help would be great

simply put no, and i'll not bore you with the technical reasons too much but it needs a connection to your router, which put as simply as i can handles your connection to broadband on your local telephone exchange, run an ethernet cable to it or buy a wireless dongle, the one for my smart tv was only 25 quid in argos and dont buy anything from the unhelpful muppet who answered first ;) the sky line is filtered through the telephone side of a micro-filter i'll bet so it might be possible to remove that and move ur router to that socket but the master socket is alway best for speed.
