Problems with aftermarket stereo install Chevrolet Colorado.?
I installed a sony head unit in my chevrolet colorado (2005) and I cannot get the stereo to turn on. I used a wiring harness, made all the correct connections and there is just no power. No fuses are blown and the battery was disconnected during all work. The stock radio still has power and works perfectly. I tested the sony head unit straight to the battery of the car and it worked perfectly. Does the Colorado run an obscure voltage to the stereo or possible trouble with the harness? The harness is a metra for GM 98-08. Metra Car Stereo Wire Harness CF-WHGM#.

If I were you I would rewire my power and remote wires to make sure they are connected correctly. If the stock car stereo runs at different voltages then it may cause the aftermarket stereo not to work. I have had to wire a head unit directly to the battery before using an in line fuse on a delta 88. If you have a multimeter then just check the voltages on the power and remote wires, If they are getting less closer to 6 volts then 12 then this could be why the radio is not turning on.
