received a letter from the irs please help?
I filed my taxes at the end of March and owed for both 2010 and 2011. My taxes for 2010 were never actually filed. My fault I'm sorry to say. I owe the IRS for both years and sent them a detailed letter and installment agreement which was accepted and payment is to start any day. Today I got a form letter concerning my correspondence recveiived 5-9-2012 which I did not send them. States that they haven't completed all the processing necessary for a complete response. Should I be worried about anything. And I assume by them accepting my agreement it would cover both years right?

NOT COMPLETED WITH ALL OF THE PROCESSING.
Concerned at this time about this matter since they are still processing YES.
And not a very good idea to ASSUME any thing about this matter until the IRS does finish with the processing.
Today I got a form letter concerning my correspondence recveiived 5-9-2012 which I did not send them.
AND what about this last form letter that you did RECEIVE about some thing that you did NOT send them?

The 5-9-2012 date should be taken with a grain of salt. That could simply be the date the piece of correspondence landed on the desk of the person who generated the delay letter. Chek the letter that said the installment agreement (IA) had been accepted. If it did not say it was for both years, you might want to call the IRS toll free number to verify that both of your returns have been processed and that the IA covers both years.

you didn't file 2010 and you have set up an installment agreement with IRS? for 2011?
if you paid for the installment agreement, by all means comply with that agreement
if you haven't filed 2010, IRS doesn't know how much you owe(unless they prepared a return for you)

No, you shouldn't worry, except for the fact that you admit that you refused to send them the required documentation. Regardless, if you cooperate you can expect to pay about 10%/year for the unpaid taxes, in interest. You could also be handed a fine of around $1000. You have thus far refused to cooperate with the IRS, and they can make you sorry for doing so.
