Should I call to follow up on my interview?

I went on an interview yesterday for a receptionist position. It went well, and they told they would call me an hour later (the doctor had left for lunch) to set up a second interview for today, but I never got a call back. Should I call them? Or should I wait it out a bit more? I don't know what to do.

Yes call them. Your employment is more important to you than it is to them.

I agree with some of the comments, that it may be better to back face to face and speak with them, but it also would not hurt to call, and at least ask if you are still being considered for the role. If they said they were going to call in an hour and they never did, either something came up, or they decided to move on with someone else and do not have a formal process in place to let you know they have moved on. I would definitely reach out and don't let it drag on. Having been an HR professional for years, I loved those who followed up, and to be honest, sometimes I would purposely not call them back to test them to see how motivated they were to follow up. Kind of like a final test to see if they were truly the person I wanted to hire.

No, don't call....go back in person. It makes you appear more determined to get the job.

If they ask what you are back there for, make up a story (like you forgot something on your job application)....then casually mention that you must have missed their call back.
