Christians how can you belive in god?! Can you counter-argue this? Thanks ?
There are so many! So which one out of all the hundreds do you belive in! Religion causes so many disputes and war, if there was one god he would surley firstly come and stop this madness!!!! Also if you dont belive in god, you go to hell! Surley if he loves is all and is kind ect and we are his childeren we would go to heaven?! SO WHAT HAPPENED TO ALL THE PEOPLE BEFORE HE WAS BORN WHO BELIVED IN THE 'SUN GOD' ext? Did they go to hell? It seems to me religion has more to do with when/where you're born!
Also Jesus:
• the place he was seen to be 'walking on water' is acually where the land rises ever so slightly above the river level on the other side! So it was an illusion!
• the bible was more than likely made to set an example! Just like all the other thousand of books today! The bible would more than likey me misunderstood also! Been translated about 6 times!
• they were all gullible back then! If I told you now 'I'm god' you would laugh! But that's all he Basically did! They would have exagurated everything after miss-understanding simple thigs that we now know are not true! For example maybe he did (although I doubt it) cure a blind man! But maybe he was slightly ahead of his time and new of a simple cure! Sugar for example ect and everyone would have though it was magic!
• they were not as advanced as today! (Now we know that witches do not exist which we thought did exist! Not to long ago!) IMMAGINE WHAT THEY THOUGH 2012 years ago!
The list could go on!
The holocaust, 9/11, cancer, aids, the earthquake in Haiti!, world famine, Rwanden genocide, segregation, racism! The black death, CATHOLIC PEADOPHILIA, slavery, premature baby deaths! YEP GOD WORKS IN MYSTERIOUS WAYS! And you Catholics blame it on ONE MAN EATING AN APPLE?!
Also
So please explain your faith,
Thanks!

id like to quote if i may
The notion of “free will” is in itself a contradiction.
Technically, yes, man has the choice between doing right or
doing wrong, but when doing wrong results in some being in
power carrying out an undesirable consequence (like hell),
there really is not freedom at all. You will obey God’s word,
worship Him and Him alone, and follow his commandments… OR you
can go to hell. There is no “free” will if this is so.
Your first argument for the existence of God is that God is
a concept too large, too infinite for human comprehension.
This itself is a logical fallacy; I can easily create a deity
and tell you “Allah is too great a concept for you to comprehend,
for science to measure.” But ignoring that, I’ll proceed to ask
you how the prophets in the Bible you so dearly cling to were
able to comprehend, even communicate with this Lord of yours.
How do you know he is kind? Surely you won’t say from some
personal anecdote of a “miracle” or tell me to look around me
and see the beauty in all things. Please don’t.
Seeing as the Bible is the miracle text inspired by God,
it should be flawless. Everything in it should be, like God,
timeless and universally applicable. Otherwise,
it wouldn’t be the miracle text inspired by a perfect God.
The Old testament, being part of the Bible, should also be
perfect and timeless. Using contemporary morality, I decided
that it isn’t perfect or timeless. The New testament isn’t
quite so bad, but nobody can quite explain: “So I will cast
her on a bed of suffering, and I will make those who commit
adultery with her suffer intensely, unless they repent of her
ways. I will strike her children dead. Then all the churches
will know that I am he who searches hearts and minds, and I
will repay each of you according to your deeds.
(From the NIV Bible, Revelation 2:22-23)”
There is no logical argument anyone can make against absolute,
obstinate faith, since faith requires people to put aside their
questions and blindly believe. So any deconversions going on here
would only result from people, after hearing me out, no longer
being satisfied with explanations such as “God’s Plan” or
“free will”.

I will try to answer your questions though you already seem to think you know all the answers.
Out of the hundreds of gods, christians believe in the one called Yahweh.
Yes, Sun worshippers go to hell according to christianity "You shall have no other God's before me" etc...
The bible has been translated a lot more than six times.
Jesus didn't go around saying he was God - he said things like "Who do you say I am?" for example, and turned it round in a clever way - if you read the bible he actually said a lot of amazing things about how to live a good life and came up with phrases like "If you live by the sword, you will die by the sword" so if indeed, he did say this stuff, he was a master of language and said lots of really intelligent things.
I've never heard of sugar curing blindness, but Jesus did tell the guy to rub mud in his eyes so maybe that was a cure, anyway, Jesus did some pretty cool stuff you might not be as aware of, he made people come back to life for one, he made an ear grow back, he made a coin appear in the mouth of a fish, he made a storm calm down, lots of things, if you met someone who did all of this. you would not laugh - you would go - how can this man do these things?
You are blinded by the religion of scientism, and ignore the spiritual. Man in years to come will
awake to a better understanding of the nature of reality which is not as science currently understands it, as you say they were not as advanced as today all those years ago, so do not assume you are advanced now and that science knows everything, as in another 2012 years your understanding will seem simple.
It was Eve who ate the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil first, and it was not a apple.
BTW I am not a christian but I do think there is a lot of good wisdom in the faith.

We ALL have faith is something. You my friend have faith that God DOESN"T exist. When was the last time that an explosion of ANY kind produced life, symmetry, organization, and order?
If I see a grass hut on an uninhabited island I presume someone else was there and BUILT it because of the design behind it. I don't think that a random stick of dynamite blasted the hut together. That's how I feel about the earth.
I have faith from what I see everyday, on animal planet, and in the hospital, that I know for a certainty that it didn't come about because of a "stick of dynamite".
I an one of Jehovah's Witnesses. BTW if you would like someone to answer your specific questions directly from the bible just talk to one you may know or see in your neighborhood.

About people going to hell-- hell is a place for sin to be destroyed. Since we are bound to sin, we go with it. It's not a punishment for us. The only way to break this bondage to sin is through accepting Jesus as your Savior and that's all you need to do go to heaven. People who worshipped other gods before being able to accept Him go to heaven right away, though, because they had no way of accepting Jesus.
People did laugh at Jesus. Until He started performing miracles, no one believed in His divinity.
All the bad things you mentioned at the ending-- These things were caused by satan, not God. God still works good out of them, though. He made everyone more alert and caring after the genocides out there and that's a good thing. Also, witches do exist. Ever heard of wiccans? It's the same thing, just a different name.
As for my faith, it is very strong and as i said, in order to go to heaven, all you need to do is accept Jesus as your savior. Now, Jesus gave you the best gift ever: salvation from hell and an eternal spot in heaven with Him. Are you going to ignore Him, spit in His face, and not even give Him the time of day? Of course not! That's where the religious parts of Christianity come in. You can still go to heaven without following Jesus, but if you are truly grateful for His gift, you will out of love for Jesus.

okay you don't seem all that well-informed nor much of a skeptic.
the better argument would be that they simply made up the "walking on water" and him claiming to be god and healing people.
According to them, those before Jesus went to sort of a "holding cell" with those in Yahweh's favor going to a good place and those not in his favor going to a bad place. Or, perhaps just waiting in the grave.
the 'sun god' stuff is conspiracy crap.
Catholics generally accept evolution and don't believe in a literal Adam and Eve, and see it as an allegory.
The real problem is:
what evidence is there that Jesus did any of that and that he even existed??

I choose to, just like you make a choice not to. It's that simple.
Let me propose this thought to you, however.
Look at it this way: You don't believe there is a God and I do. If YOU'RE right and I'm wrong, we both die and turn to dust. But, if I'M right and you're wrong, I go to heaven and you go to hell. You have much more to lose than I do, so you might want to rethink you're position.
Psalm 14:1a. The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, they have committed abominable deeds;
Psalm 10:4. The wicked, in the haughtiness of his countenance, does not seek Him. All his thoughts are, "There is no God."
John 8:24. "I said therefore to you, that you shall die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am He, you shall die in your sins."

I just read the first bullet point...I hate reading...but if Jesus walked on the sand then it would have been impossible for a boat to be floating in the water too.

LOL Castro, Stalin, Pol Pot, Lenin, Marx, Zedong. All atheists all depraved murderers. More deaths than any religious conflict ever. I know atheists who admit that fact.
Wrong. Love does not always erase consequences of one's actions. If I broke the law my parents would still love me but that doesn't keep me from having to go to prison. God tells us strictly how to avoid Hell (it is NOT the grave. Luke 16:24) acceptance of Christ. If you reject him it isn't his fault.
Those who have never heard the Gospel go to Heaven or Hell based on their conscience. Romans 2:14
Babies and children go to heaven.
Humanity causes 99.999 percent of it's own problems. WE do that. God tells us exactly how to avoid sickness we don't do it. He tells us to love one another we don't do it. our fault.
Lastly you cannot say with certainty that Jesus's miracles were an illusion. that's just you ranting. nothing to address.

Do you know that if humanity would go on another thousand years they would be laughing at what people believed in the year 2012. The truth of the bible will still be standing, because its truth, and the truth can never be denied or elese it already would of ages ago. The answer to all your world tragedies is one word. "SIN".

I see Santa let somebody down this Christmas, and now he's taking it out on God.
