What is the difference between corn syrup and high fructose corn syrup? Does corn syrup contain sugar?
I am on a diet where I am suppose to limit her sugar, so I was wondering if I can eat food with corn syrup? Is corn syrup just as bad as high fructose corn syrup?

I'm slightly diabetic, so I stay away from corn syrup and such, except for the sugar free type and I don't really know if even that is o.k. for me actually. I have to limit my salt intake, too, and find it almost impossible because everything (almost) has tons of salt put in during processing, it seems. Good day.

There isn't much of a difference. Corn syrup has a lot of sugar as well as high fructose corn syrup

Yes, corn syrup is high in sugar like any other syrup. High fructose corn syrup has allot of sugar. You would be surprised by the food items that are high in high fructose sugar, they slip it in processed foods because it has a longer shelf life. Did you know that hunts spaghetti sauce has high fructose sugar as the second ingredient, ketchup, and salad dressings are loaded with it. same with frozen foods. paying attention to the ingredients is a giant leap to becoming aware of what your eating.
