"There is no recordable disc in your disc burner. Insert a blank recordable disc and try again." Any suggestio?

I'm trying to burn a disc image to my DVD+R, which I have just formatted, so I know for a fact that there's no data on it. I do not have another disc big enough to store the disc image, so I need to use this one. Any suggestions?

Update:

@Flake-o-matic

Nothing like that comes up at all. It asks me to view the folders inside the disc in Windows Explorer in the dialogue box.

    "Insert the DVD+R into the DVD drive of your computer. Wait a few seconds to let the disc load. Once loaded, a dialog box will appear.

    Click "Burn files to disc" from the dialog box.

    Enter a name for the DVD in the dialog box.

    Click "Show formatting options" and decide which format you want. You have two choices: mastered and live file system. Mastered formatting will allow you to use the DVD in various external devices, like a DVD player. Live file system formatting only allows the disk to be read in the Windows operating system."
