Why doesn't Canada tap into their oil reserves ?

Canada hosts about 240 billion barrels of oil on reserve. Why doesn't Canada tap into these reserves and start selling in massive amounts to countries around the world and play a huge export game like the Saudi Arabians are doing ?

Really? None of these fools know the answer? What morons!

In the terms of national survival, you let the citizens suffer a little tax hike on oil and gasoline for a while until your rivals use up all their oil. Then, you can monopolize oil, overcharge to other countries, and have supreme dominance with your mechanized military and industrial forces, while everyone else is back to tying two sticks together with hemp rope.

Because they are called "reserves" for a reason. In case of catastrophe or war.

It's about $3.50/gallon where I live. Deal with it loser.

Get rid of the Hummers and F30000 pickups and it might help.

Actually there is a glut of oil now, the prices are artificially high thanks to OPEC and 54 cents/gallon higher than that because of speculators. Do something about that you whiny maggots.

The Trans-Canada pipeline has already suffered 12 spills in a mere 12 months and that it will pierce America’s largest freshwater aquifer, which 20 million people depend on. However, Ms. Hannah and other activists failed to identify the true motives behind this sinister undertaking.

In a Sept. 2 article for IPS News entitled “U.S.Awash in Oil and Lies,” Stephen Leahy wrote, “The only reason U.S. citizens may be forced to endure a risky, Canadian-owned oil pipeline called Keystone XL is so oil companies with billion-dollar profits can get the dirty oil from Canada’s tar sands down to the Gulf of Mexico to export to Europe, Latin America or Asia.”
