    Which god?

Seriously, there are limits to what various gods can and cannot do.

On the other side of the coin, there appear to be two things that God _won't_ do (not that he can't, but he won't).

Rob man of his agency to make bad (okay, or good) decisions.

    Force a man to believe.

These are likely not what you were looking for, but they are the things that come to mind.

He cannot lie, and he cannot die.

"Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath. God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged." Hebrews 6:17-18

If God could die, he would not be the Almighty God. Which is why it had to be the Son of God who became human, to die as a human on earth. Whilst Jesus was dying as a sacrifice for sin, the Father in heaven turned his back on his Son, who had become sin, and the Holy Spirit no longer made the link between the Father and the Son - until after Jesus died, of course!

There's a Hebrew scripture, one of the minor prophets, that some have translated, "Oh my God, you do not die" but it actually reads, "...we do not die". However, God cannot die any more than he can lie, because he has immortality - 1 Timothy 1:17 & 6:16.

According to the Bible, God can't:

    - Help a general defeat an army that is equipped with iron chariots.

    - Forgive a sin without a blood sacrifice.

God is sovereign, he can do what ever He will. We are like dust to Him. But there is a lot He will no do. Never again wipe out the word with rain. Next time it will be fire(at least as I understand). He never lies. Guess I could go on here, but you probably already stopped reading:)

    God cannot lie.

God cannot cease to be God.

    God cannot be tempted.

God cannot lie (Hebrews 6:18); he cannot be tempted (James 1:13); and he cannot cease to exist (Psalm 102:25-27).
