Do you believe in love at first sight? If you've been married for years, was it love at first sight?

If you've been married for years ( 10 or more) was it love at first sight? How did you know that the person you're married to was the one you were going to be with?

And if you're not married, do you believe in love at first sight? Do you wait for that one person, who gives you the love at first sight feeling?

No. You can't love a person until you get to know them. You can lust after someone at first sight, but true love takes time in getting to know someone. I thought my wife was attractive at first sight, but it was not until I got to know her that I fell in love with her.

Source(s): Married 24 years and counting.

I've been with my Husband for 12 years, married for 5 years. When we met it wasn't love at first sight. I highly doubt it was love, hard to say since I haven't been in love before at that time. We met when we were 19, and when we first saw each other there was definitely a connection/attraction something big enough that we end up communicating and building a relationship. It was during all the late night conversations that we knew we were right for each other. I think the long distance helped us figured it out as well that we couldn't live without one another.

Do I believe it is possible.... YES!

Do I believe it is necessary.... NO!

There are so many different wonderful scenarios that could happen, so why put all your hope in just 1...... However it plays out for you, it will be unique and memorable for you and whomever.....

For example: I met my wife the 1st day of our Junior year of High School during our last class of the day.... I did notice her that day but would I say I fell in love... NO!...... We were friends that whole year and talked a lot but we did not start actually dating until that next summer..... 1 of her friends told me that she had told them that I was going to be the guy that she married but I wasn't thinking that at the time.... 2 decades later and she still puts up with me and I am truly grateful that she does.....

1 day you will have your own unique story to tell and memories to share!

All the best of luck to you throughout your life!

My parents have been married for nearly 24 years. For my Dad, it was love at first sight. He had actually seen my mom in a vision a few years before. They met in college and when he saw her he immediately recognized her and knew that she was the one he was going to marry. It didn't take long before she agreed. They got married still in college and have had 12 kids since. They are still in love and happily married. So, yes, I'd say I believe it sometimes works. For me, well, the girl I want to marry, I pretty much fell in love with her at first sight.

I believe that at the begining of any new relationship (new love) our bodies produce pharamones. That is the feeling most of us relate to and may consider love. When we really like a person we have tons and tons of pheremones. As time pases we do not produce as much of thos so we feel that we are not as in love. In realilty I take Love as a verb meaning, that love is a choice you can decide to love someone or not.As far as knowing that the person is the right one, I think you need to find out if the person that you are with is meeting you important needs, make a list you your most importatnt needs and share them with each other. You if guys make the choice to meet those needs you guys can both be really happy. If you guys do not want to try to make each other happy then maybe you can seek other kinds of help, Hopefully my answers was not confusing and you find it helpful. Best of luck.

I have been with my husband for 12 years but married for 8. It wasn't love at first site though. We were friends first and I slowly fell in love with him after I got to know him. He has the best personality of anyone I know. I knew he was the one for me because no matter what mood I was in or how ill I was he was the only one that could cheer me up and make me laugh...more importantly, he was the one who tried and cared enough to do it. We are high school sweethearts.

    Love? No.

    Lust? Yes.

To love someone you must know their character or their inner self. You can't know that just by looking at someone. You have to get to know them.
