  • Should I let my Sister-in-Law know?

My Husband and I woke up one night with very similar dreams about my Sister-in-Law's new boyfriend cheating on her. It has happened to her in the past and this new relationship has blossom quite quickly in front of our eyes and I am very happy for her. It is the first time that we have similar dreams simultaneously especially about someone we barely know. My Husband wants me to tell her about it but I don't think it's a good idea. How am I suppose to casually just bring it up without upsetting her? I'm not a meddler in anybodies relationship but he thinks otherwise and say she has a right to know.

I think we're making nothing out of something. What would you do?

  • If you're not homeless/poor and have family members to rely on why do you feel the need to except donations?

A guy sends a mass text to his buddies in which he says:

"Grandma wants to stock up on food lol! From our local food bank."

What would your reaction be and how will you respond back?

  • 8 year old needs a cell phone, are you kidding me?

I find it ridiculous and not necessary for my 8 year old child to have a cell phone, but my friend thinks otherwise. He says, “Why doesn’t your child have a cell phone already?” I was like OMG are you kidding me?! My child does not need one, I don’t let him roam by himself at the mall, I don’t allow him to use public restrooms by himself, I sure as heck don’t allow him to play outside by himself with no supervision for hours and hours and not return home until night fall. I surely wouldn’t leave my child home alone just so I can shop by myself so why do you think he needs one? I was getting mad because he feels my child needs one when my child isn’t his. We left after that talk because if we stayed any longer my anger would have gotten worse. Just because his 9 year old has had a cell phone since he was “5” that doesn’t mean my son has to follow in his child’s footsteps and do the same. I’m not overreacting am I? Because I find it ludicrous to give my son a cell phone right now when it’s not needed.

  • Leaving child home alone?

My son finally got to open his Christmas gift from a friend. (Long Story)

Well I had my Husband call our friend so that he can thank her personally. Turns out she and her Husband are out at the store, probably buying things for their new dog, but they don't have their boy with them. He is 8 years old, left home alone. I figured that they must be doing this for quite sometime now, just going out and leaving him behind, or allowing him to play outside until past 9pm. One time they were the mall and he was in the restroom alone doing the number 2, while the parents were halfway across the other side of the mall. They trust him and feel he is responsible enough, and besides he has a cell phone! Like WTH!!! My friends are crazy and I cannot believe they could think this way!

I know what to do, what would you do considering you know this friend for more than 10 years?

  • Temporary Babysitter for 2 days, how much?

Hubby was laid off earlier this year and wasn't able to obtain a job until now. It may be a temporary job but it will last at least until the end of the year. It's better then nothing since he's had no luck elsewhere. While I went back to work he was caring for our newborn. Now that he is working we have asked a distant relative to care for her from 6:30am-2:30pm since I am off work at 1:30pm. She is a few years older than I am and has 2 daughters so she is familiar with caring for a girl. She mentioned that I don't need to pay her but it wouldn't feel right. It will be for only 2 days out of the week, my hubby suggested we should start giving her $35 for now, and more once we are better adjusted. My daughter is now 5 months and she is a very easy baby. I thought $50 would be ideal but I don't know... she is family and I don't want to take advantage of that. How much would you give a family member to babysit for 2 days?

  • Baby at 5 months? To Sit or To Stand?

My daughter doesn't seem to enjoy sitting all that much. She can sit on her own without support for a little while, but she would rather be standing instead. She loves it when I hold her and have her standing, she'll laugh and giggle at everything. I say it's partly my fault for having her on her feet way too often, but she gives me this look like she is so ready to start walking already. Her brother was walking at 9 months I wonder if it would be possible for a child to walker sooner than that? Just curious as to what your babies were doing at this age.

  • Wedding Invitation?

I was reading my brother's wedding invitation the other day and the first line got me upset. It started off as, "Please join Mr XX & Mrs XX in honor of their.... etc." The thing is Mr XX, my father has been deceased for 3 years. I find it to be inappropriate to include him as he will not be present. I miss him so much that just reading that line upset me. Is it appropriate to include a deceased parent in that manner?

  • Medi-cal in California?

Anyone over the age of 21 that has Medi-Cal?

Hubby just got laid off and our health insurance through his work will end by the end of the month.

I am working on applying for Medi-Cal right now, but unsure of the procedures. I currently work PT, my baby is Due early March. I have a 6 year old child as well. Hubby will is looking to get another job, also hopefully receiving Unemployment for the time being. If I am able to receive Medi-Cal what exactly will it cover? Like delivery, my child's doctor visits?

  • What can you do?

Thurs 1/31/08 Husband got laid off. His company said "reduction-in-force", they need to downsize so they eliminated his position. It was about 3:30pm, HR lady calls him in the conference room, his supervisor was on speaker & that was when they told him. After that conversation they handed him his last paycheck and other forms, & said he needed to leave "now". It was such a shocker, he came by my cube & said he was getting let go & had to leave immediately. HR lady stood nearby while he gathered his belongings. I left with him as well since we carpool to work together, we may work in the same office but for different employers. To me it felt like he was fired instead of getting laid off because the HR lady followed us down to the garage, so when we left she could grab the key card which gives access to the parking garage. Heartless people, could have given him more notice. I am due in March and his insurance will go through end of Feb. and they only gave him 1 week of severance pay.

  • What's going on?

I was just at Target hoping to finish up Christmas shopping, I was walking around the children clothes isle for about 15 minutes. All of a sudden my body starts to get hot, I'm sweating and I feel like I am going to pass out. I sat down for 5 minutes and continue shopping. 15 minutes later I started to get the same symptoms. That was it, not going to take anymore risk so I went to pay for whatever I could put in my basket and now I am home. I'm wondering if it's something I should be concerned about? I am 28 weeks, and this is the first time that I've felt this exhausted after walking 15 minutes, I've walked longer before and never had these symptoms.

  • Bra Size, How Often?

For women who has experienced pregnancy, how often did you have to buy new bras? Were you able to use them after having your baby?

I am 27 weeks, and so far I've only bought a size up. Now I think it's time to buy new ones since I'm starting to feel pain in the chest area. As soon as I remove my bra I feel much better. It's either the bra that is the problem or it could be something else. I hope it's the bra and nothing serious.

This would be my second pregnancy. All the symptoms I have now I don't remember having them with my first one, but then again that was 6 years ago.

  • From Class to Trash?

Do you have any friends or relatives that dump/cheated on their partners for someone trashy? I mean the person they were previously with in your own opinion was mature, had a sense of morals, someone with class, and ends up going for someone who is considered trash to you?

A friend cheated on his GF of 5 years with a younger gal. His reasoning, in his own words, "she wasn't on his level". He said things became sexual after 3 days of being with the younger gal, as soon as the ex GF moved out, the new gal moved in the next day. From what I can tell he went from "Class to Trash" and I guess that is where he stands. He wants to be part of Trash and now I want nothing to do with this friend.

  • Right to be mad?

I invited a couple to my birthday dinner at a rest. I called them a wk in advance to let them know that it will be an adult dinner no kids. I specifically said no kids because my son won’t be attending and it wouldn’t be fair or make sense that they bring their child. I go to the same rest every yr which they are aware of & we never bring our kids w/ us. This time I just happen to make such a request to make sure that they have enough time to get a baby sitter or a few hours that Fri. Since they were invited to my dinner I have no problem forking out the bill like I always do each yr, so 1 request such as that shouldn’t be a big problem. But I guess it is to them, on that Fri they called & said their baby sitter is not avail. They would have to bring their child w/ them. I suggested they have their child w/ my son at my mom’s house for a few hrs so us adult can have dinner. They go off & say, we will bring him he will not eat & we’ll have his PSP so he won’t bother us.

  • What is the proper thing to do?

Last year for my birthday dinner my husband invited a few friends to join us. When the bill came my husband end up paying it in full. It didn't bother me so much since my husband was the one that invited them, he was a bit disappointed and he kind of expected some sort of help like maybe tips or something, but nothing.

The same friends that came to my dinner party invited us to their birthday party at this club. We paid for our own entrance fee. We realized that since they picked up the tab for snacks and all the drinks that we pitched in, so we gave them $20 since it never feels right to free load off others.

It's the time of year again where we will be out having dinner again and the same people will be invited, this time I don't feel so generous. How polite is it to ask if they can cover for their own meal?

  • Out of pocket Expenses?

I don't have vision insurance but I need to get contacts so I scheduled an appointment for an eye exam to get contacts this Friday. Total out of pocket expenses for the eye exam and a year supply of contacts will cost me $275. Keep in mind I have astigmatism. Is this a reasonable price?

  • Delivery Room?

For mothers out there with more than one child.

I am currently 25 weeks. I have a 6 year old boy. I was just thinking if any of you think it would be appropriate or okay if my son was present in the delivery room. At his age, you think he would take it okay or it might be to much for him?

Have any of you had a child in there while you were in labor?

Besides my Husband he is the only other person I want present with me in the delivery room. Not sure if the doctors would even allow it. I don't want him to see the whole front of what is going on when I go into labor, would be best if he was kept at a distance but still in the room just so he can also expeirence the joy of his sister coming into this world.

  • Acura Loaners?

I have a 97 TL, and a 02 MDX. When I take them in for service at the dealership and is in need of a Loaner vehicle, they usually only provide me with a TSX. I live in San Diego county, is it the same for other Acura dealerships in other counties as well? I haven't had the need to take my cars in for service in a while, was just wondering with if by chance they provide the RDX now instead of the TSX?

  • Baby Names?

Is it wrong for me to be upset? The first name I was considering, I told my BFF about, then all of a sudden she goes online, searches for baby names referring to them as one she would use for her future daughter, turns out it was the same name. She's not even trying to conceive I don't understand why she's doing this. Then I told another friend about a name, and she tells me it was the name she was going to use for her second daughter but passed on it, now she tells me that her friend who is about to have her baby will use the exact first and middle name. When I told my husband about it he got very upset, he says what kind of friends are these to steal your ideas, etc. I am upset as well but it's something I can easily get over, there are plenty of other names for my baby, this time I just won't tell anyone.
