Acura Loaners?
I have a 97 TL, and a 02 MDX. When I take them in for service at the dealership and is in need of a Loaner vehicle, they usually only provide me with a TSX. I live in San Diego county, is it the same for other Acura dealerships in other counties as well? I haven't had the need to take my cars in for service in a while, was just wondering with if by chance they provide the RDX now instead of the TSX?
To Little Chicken: Your age shouldn't matter as long as you have insurance coverage. I am 26, and I've always been giving loaners for the past 5 years, if my car will be serviced for longer than 1 day. You should look into going to a different Acura dealership that will treat you better. There are 2 dealerships I deal with, one which is closer to my home which I only use their free car service, the other a bit further for all other services. I prefer the one further because they don't treat me like crap after I spend hundreds, to thousands on servicing my car.

Sometimes they would not even give me a loaner. They would make me take some crappy rental. They kept telling me it was because they were out of loaners but eventually I got them to admit that they did not want to give me a loaner because I was under 25. So do the math. I bought 2 brand new TL w/ Navi one a Type S and I am old enough for them to take my money, but I am not old enough to get a loaner.

As far as loaners go....it is the dealership that buys the loaners, we have a wide selection of loaners but not every dealer does. We keep RDX's to a distinct minimum due to the cost of oil changes and the turbo, also with the stiff ride of the RDX most of our TL/MDX customers don't like them.

Just before I got rid of my Acura, I noticed my dealership started to get rid of some of their nicer vehicles in favor of the cheaper TSX.
However, if you give plenty of notice and request a better car, there is a good chance they will help you out. I'd flat out ask the service manager what loaners they have, and if you want to try and RDX, tell them you are thinking of getting one and want to have one for the day.
The loaner car thing is a kiss up to make you want to buy another car from them. They don't really care who drives what loaner car. So just ask for what you want, and there is no reason not to get what you want.

As far as I know they still provide the TSX. But it wouldn't surprise me if they offered the RSX to boost sales of a new product. Personally, though, I'd be upset if they gave me an SUV to replace my sports sedan.
To Chicken Little - I've noticed all Acura dealerships are different. Some have tremendous customer service and really do you right. Others not so much. I've gained that info from reading message boards concerning transmission issues in TLs. But if I was getting the run around from one of them I would never buy another Acura from them and I might not buy another Acura period.

just ask them. it depends on which cars they've designated as loaners and what they have available. the RDX is a fun vehicle.

all it takes is to ask
the worst that could happin is that they dont have RDX's to loan
