How does one get fans on Yahoo answers?

When somebody adds you as a contact, they will be your fan. You can't force it. But your profile settings may be preventing people from adding you. Check on your Privacy & Communications page (http://answers.yahoo.com/my-activity/edit/settings... ); if the box next to "Allow someone from Yahoo! Answers to be my fan" is checked then other users can add you as a contact.

Give good answers. I have 1340 fans and only 9 contacts. So it has nothing to do with making someone a contact and having them do it back.

click on your avatar click on contacts,you can not chat chat with your contacts it is a violation of the community guidelines.try on your e-mail to send a invitation to the person and if the person replys to the invitation you can do it that way. look luck
