100 billion is 10,000,000,000 --> 1.00x10^11
10 billion is 10,000,000,000 --> 1.0x10^10
I have been using it for 5 years but have known how to do it for 8

100,000,000,000 is one hundred billion
There are '11' zeroes so in scientific notation it is 1.0 x 10^11
Similarly,
10,000,000,000 = 1.0 x 10^10
