Is homosexuality just going to disappear if there is an amendment against it?
Beyond the ignorance required for someone to think that homosexuals should not be allowed to marry, I don't understand the failure in simple logic that leads people to believe that this issue is simply going to vanish with a constitutional amendment or something. Not long ago homosexuality was defined as a mental illness, and now people are more aware and supportive of GLBTIQ people than ever before. This is an incredible amount of progress made in just a few decades, and every year more people get on board with GLBTIQ rights - including the President of the United States.
So what do you think will happen? By voting against gay marriage do you expect this progress to reverse itself? Are homosexuals just going to disappear? Or are they just going to accept it? In the end, we all know that gay marriage is going to be legal in this entire country, all you bigoted morons are doing is slowing down the progress of our country and, by extension, the entire human race.
@Pretty Boy: Homosexuality is in no way comparable to rape, murder or theft.
@Lantz: So people should just accept whatever laws are passed even if they are unfair and ruin their lives? If that were the case Black people would still be working in cotton fields. The government, or any authority really, is not always right and sometimes progress can only be made when authority is questioned.
@Rogelio: You're not making any sense. Personal vs. moral issue? This is about civil rights. The greatest moments in U.S. history have been when the values of freedom and equality that this country was founded on are upheld and expanded.
@America: It is not an oxymoron and yes its possible several states and countries have legalized gay marriage and they're still completely functional. And if "gay" didn't mean "homosexual" there are plenty of other words for it (many of them originated from people like you).
@Johnny: Even if that was true (it's not certain, but I can tell you from experience that it's far more than 2%) the rights of those people still matter. They're not going anywhere. And no marriage is not a church thing, it's a family thing that every single culture in the world formed independently and should be a right for any loving couple regardless of their sexual orientation. And just because someone is gay doesn't mean they're not Christian, so even if you were right it still wouldn't be fair to deny them marriage.

I don't at all think the homosexuals will disappear, simply outlawing a action against a certain type of individuals won't make them extinct. In fact, I think the more governments outlaw these sorts of things the more rebels will rise up and fight for the rights that they deserve. In my opinion the bigoted morons never get anywhere by protesting things just because there different or not exactly what they are used too.

Technically, it'd be going against the constitution, and it'd just be silly to ban gay marriage. Honestly HUMANS run the country NOT the BIBLE. Even though homosexuals found love with an unusual partner, they still do everything like normal Americans.
However, I think even if people still put down the GLBTIQ community, they will continue to be HAPPY.
Honestly I don't see the issue about homosexuals, really they are people..

Okay first off I am not a homophobe but I think it shouldn't be legal because the politicians don't think of this in a personal way except conservatives it is more of a moral issue, what would the world think of the U.S, a super power and a country that has pretty much been policing the world, allow gay marriage we would probably get some negative looks from other superpowers.
It will not reverse itself there will definitely be homosexuals In This world I personally think it is genetic for males.

the clarification ALL believers in God could desire to be against homosexuality, is because's unnatural, as God says that's. Can a guy and a guy/woman and lady reproduce jointly? No. Procreation is the organic element. subsequently homosexuality is inaccurate, and a sin in God's eyes. The argument that "animals have completed gay issues, subsequently homosexuality is organic" is invalid. of course animals might do such issues, because of the fact they are animals. Animals don't be responsive to the version between precise and incorrect. Animals have no ethical values. Animals won't be able to experience love. people are no longer animals.

Calling your opponents stupid or dumb, those who understand that same-sex marriage is an oxymoron, and not ever possible regardless the whims of a single society or state, is no way to change their mind.
Can this society re-redefine the word Gay to mean happy? What would homosexuals call themselves?

Even if the put an amendment against gays and homosexuals there will always be those that say **** the goveement I'll do whatever I want they can't control me but by doing that they won't be the gays we know today I guess they would ruin the face of anarchist by putting a big ******* rainbow behind the anarchy symbol

How big of a dumbass are you? Homosexuals make up only 2% of the population.
Now marriage is a church thing and so no marriages but I have no qualms about a civil unions.

No... if the law passes(it won't), they won't get married that's all. You can't force them to not live together. And many homosexuals are biologically homosexuals so it's impossible to "die out."
And hey, don't blame people for being ignorant. Although it makes me laugh, I strongly oppose to this quote: "stupid is a condition but ignorance is a choice"
ignorance is not a choice. if you had the ability to think logically and reasonably as other freethinkers, nobody's going to choose to be ignorant

Of course it would continue. There are laws against drugs and other things, but people do it anyways. People are going to do whatever the f*** they want. If people want to be homosexual, then more power to them.
