Does anyone else admire Bill Cosby?
Well He “ain’t” the only one tired of this stuff. So nice hearing it from such a well-known person.
THIS MAN IS A NATIONAL TREASURE AND TELLS, IN A VERY SIMPLE WAY, WHY IT’S GOOD TO BE OLD.
Cosby: "I'm 83 and tired."
"I'm 83 and I'm Tired"
I'm 83. Except for brief period in the 50's when I was doing my NationalService, I've worked hard since I was 17. Except for some some serioushealth challenges, I put in 50-hour weeks, and didn't call in sick in nearly40 years. I made a reasonable salary, but I didn't inherit my job or myincome, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, it looks asthough retirement was a bad idea, and I'm tired. Very tired.
I'm tired of being told that I have to "spread the wealth" to people whodon't have my work ethic. I'm tired of being told the government will takethe money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy to earn it.
I'm tired of being told that Islam is a "Religion of Peace," when every day Ican read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives anddaughters for their family "honor"; of Muslims rioting over some slightoffense; of Muslims murdering Christian and Jews because they aren't"believers"; of Muslims burning schools for girls; of Muslims stoningteenage rape victims to death for "adultery"; of Muslims mutilating the genitalsof little girls; all in the name of Allah, because the Qur'an and Shari'a law tells them to.
I'm tired of being told that out of "tolerance for other cultures" we must letSaudi Arabia and other Arab countries use our oil money to fund mosquesand madrassa Islamic schools to preach hate in Australia , New Zealand ,UK, America and Canada , while no one from these countries are allowed tofund a church, synagogue or religious school in Saudi Arabia or any otherArab country to teach love and tolerance.
I'm tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight globalwarming, which no one is allowed to debate.
I'm tired of being told that drug addicts have a disease, and I must helpsupport and treat them, and pay for the damage they do. Did a giant germrush out of a dark alley, grab them, and stuff white powder up their nosesor stick a needle in their arm while they tried to fight it off?
I'm tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers and politicians of allparties talking about innocent mistakes, stupid mistakes or youthfulmistakes, when we all know they think their only mistake was gettingcaught. I'm tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor.
I'm really tired of people who don't take responsibility for their lives andactions. I'm tired of hearing them blame the government, or discriminationor big-whatever for their problems.
I'm also tired and fed up with seeing young men and women in their teens andearly 20's be-deck them selves in tattoos and face studs, thereby makingthemselves un-employable and claiming money from the Government.
Yes, I'm damn tired. But I'm also glad to be 83. Because, mostly, I'm notgoing to have to see the world these people are making. I'm just sorry formy granddaughter and their children. Thank God I'm on the way out and noton the way in.
Thanks for the link Handy, I had not seen it before, but have always much admired the person he is. I would love to see him and Judge Joe Brown collaborate on something such as that, have always admired Judge Joe also. Just got this today from my brother, I'm kinda disappointed it is not actually as it is touted, but Bill Cosby is too me a superb role model for any young person.
No thumbs down came from me. Thanks to all who answered!
Lucky the ones who had the opportunity to see him preform in person!

I knew Bill Cosby many years ago. We were in the same class at Temple University (class of '60). He dropped out of college to take a contract at a comedy club in SF called The Hungry Eye. He had already introduced his character, Fat Albert, and cut a record of stories about the kids in the hood. Bill grew up in a tough project a few blocks from Temple and a few blocks from where I grew up. We didn't know each other as kids. He was (is) three years older and went into the military before going to college. Ours was a passing acquaintance but each of us had a corner of Mitten Hall, the student lounge at Temple. Mine was around the grand piano where I entertained. His was kitty-corner where he and the jocks hung out. He was on the track and football teams. Both my piano playing and his clowning had the intention and success at attracting co-eds! AS a coincidence, both of us lost a son in his twenties. His loss was far more tragic. His son, Ennis, was murdered. My son, Adam, died of natural causes.
He went on to get his BS, M Ed and EdD at U Mass.
Bill is not 83, he will be 76 sometime this year.
He, like all of us Philadelphia ex-pats like Kevin Bacon and Sherman Hemsley, we still wear our Philly sports teams' clothes proudly.
AS for your rant, I hope it made you feel better. I stopped ranting long ago. It does no good for either me or people who might have to read it. I turned it into humor. Like...Do you know that "plain" spelled sideways is Palin?

Sorry, June, but that's been around a long time and it's definitely NOT from Bill Cosby. Although I admire him and would love to see he and Judge Joe Brown partner up and make a "walk like a man" tour around the country to show young men what it really takes to become a man, some of this doesn't even sound remotely like what Bill Cosby would say:

I never met Bill Cosby in my life, and I'm glad that I didn't. The man has been accused of rape by more than fifty women. He seems to be something of a black pervert who knows how to tell a funny joke.
I happened to wander on to Sesame Street one evening about a week ago. It was about a half hour before sunset, after the buses had taken the kids away and the Children's Television Workshop team had gone home. The muppets had gathered in front of the building where Gordon and Maria had their apartments back in the day to discuss whether Mr. Cosby had any hope of continuing his career.
All of them, including Elmo, Miss Piggy, and the Snuffleupagus, were there. Since there weren't any children (or employers) around, they felt free to discuss the adult-themed subjects that concerned them. They were pretty bummed out over the fact that someone who had seemed to be a friend of theirs had been accused of terrible crimes. As I stood on the corner by the street sign, I happened to hear some of their conversation.
Count Von Count: Did anybody count the number of women who have accused him? No? Then I shall do so. One! Carla Ferrigno! Two! Joan Tarshis! Three! Linda Joy Traitz! Four! Victoria Valentin—
Bert: Hey, Count, can we do that later?
Ernie: He missed Kristina Ruehli anyway.
Kermit: Mm-hm. But so did SLATE for a while.
Cookie Monster: Maybe somebody will give Bill Cosby a part in a movie about Uncle Ream-us. Ha ha ha. Hoo boy.
Grover: I don't think it would be an A movie, nor a B movie, either.
Big Bird: Probably one of the letters further down the alphabet would have to be used.
Oscar (popping up out of his trash can): It happened on one of dem rape-it-dee-doo-dah days. Now that's the kinda day when you can't open your mouth without Bill Cosby trying to put some kinda drug into it.
All together (singing): ♫♩ Rape uh dee doo dah, rape uh dee ayy. My oh my what a rape-it-dee day. Quaaludes and laud'num comin' my way... ♬♪
While the others sang the song, Oscar noticed me standing there between the streetlights. He turned toward me and said in a confidential tone of voice: "I bet the Scottsboro boys were guilty as sin, too. Heh. Heh." And down into the trash can he went slamming the lid closed behind him, while the muppets sang "Wonderful feeling! Wonderful day!"
After the song was finished, a Cute Little Girl Muppet pushed her way to the front of the crowd. Everyone else became very quiet.
Cute Little Girl Muppet: What does 'rape' mean?
All the other muppets did a horrified inhaling GASP.
Janice, the female musician muppet from The Muppet Show ran up and grabbed the Cute Little Girl Muppet.
Janice: Listen, young lady! What are you doing out of bed? It's way past your bed time, and you have to go to school tomorrow.
Cute Little Girl Muppet: But it's only five thirty... (voice trails off as Janice hauls the Cute Little Girl Muppet away).
The remaining muppets muttered in an uncomfortable fashion.
Miss Piggy: What is she doing here?
Bert: She got out of bed to check us out.
Ernie: We were singing kind of loudly.
Miss Piggy: NO! I mean Janice! Not her daughter.
Kermit: I remember her telling me, back in LA, about going to visit relatives on the east coast. I didn't know they lived here though.
Cookie Monster: But.. But did you notice that the little girl did not ask what are Quaaludes and laudanum?
Cookie Monster stares over his furry shoulder in the direction Janice had gone.
It was starting to get dark, so I turned and began walking back toward my car.

Yes, I admire him greatly but this letter started out as I'm 76 and I'm tired seven years ago. Some people including Bill say he didn't write it but whoever did was hitting on all their cylinders. I liked it then and it's still true today. Now I'm going to get a violation notice for agreeing with what's said by everyone else, that's whats been happening ever since I signed on about a week ago. Whoever got it in for me, why don't you just send me a email. My box is open. I got nothing to hide.
Source(s): Googled the letter. - How do you think about the answers? You can sign in to vote the answer.

Good old "COZ"!
Besides all the things he said in that wonderful Repubilcan chain-letter, I have heard that Coz also believes that all the Mexicans should be rounded up and put to work until they pay off all the money they are stealing from our great nation.
Plus, he believes that we should cancel "Martin Luther King Day." Because King was NOT a president, so he deserves no respect. And we should change all the "Martin Luther King Boulevards" in America to something more patriotic, like "Dick Cheney Boulevard." That would be the REAL American thing to do!
And I heard somewhere that Coz has also said that longhaired hippies and punks should have their heads forcibly shaved and then they should be forced to join the army to teach them a lesson in respect.
Also I have heard that Coz believes flag burning should be a capital crime. Like pot smoking, and using four-letter words.
And he thinks that women should be forced to be obedient to men and wear dresses like in the good old days. And work in the kitchen where they belong.
Coz is a great example for all our colored people, because he shows that being colored does not necessarily mean that a person is liberal or bad in any way. Coz used to have a TV show where he played a nice, respectable, Republican colored person, who was a doctor, I think. Anyway, I remember he was something respectable, and he had some cute little respectable Republican colored children who knew their place and were not mouthy like most colored kids are. So with his TV show he proved that in America any colored person can become a doctor and have cute kids if they just work at it and believe in Jesus and salute the flag.
Hooray for COZ! What a great role model he is for all our colored people everywherre! You betcha!

Well; I must be a National Treasure also, because I'v been saying the exact same thing since 1960.
Mr. Cosby isn't relating anything new. He simply has the larger audience.

I respect and admire Bill Cosby because he is a truth teller! No one wants to offend with the truth, but he has boldly spoken truths throughout the years. I applaud such a wonderful man as Mr. Cosby.

I like Bill Cosby. My heart went out to him when his son was murdered a long some deserted highway. Poor kid. Anyway, though he didn't write this I would agree with you that it's a good writing anyway. I'm tired too. Take care and God Bless you, June. ;)

I got to see Bill Cosby in concert years ago I thought I would pop a casket I was laughing so hard. One of my favorite Cosby show was where he was trying to teach Theo some responsibility using monopoly money.
