if something i sold didn't work for someone, what do i say?

i sold a few computer parts on kijiji (eBay's classified) quite recently and i was wondering about one item in particular, a DVD burner.

i clearly had written in the ad that it's an IDE drive (different, older cable) and not a SATA (newer, more widely used cable) type, and got a reply within a week from someone who needed it.

the drive was working in my possession, but i'm not sure he knew the difference between the two cables. if he calls back saying he couldn't plug it in, what do i tell him? i don't want to give him his money back just because he didn't check his manual. is there an IDE/SATA converter adapter i can reccomend to him?

Tell him to **** off, if your description of the product was correct and if the item was working he has no claim against you. Caveat emptor.
