Toshiba Portege says "plugged in, not charging."?

My Portege laptop isn't charging. There's no battery to take off to try to reset things. All the advice I've found online say to take off the battery and put it back on, but there's not battery to take off on this model. It's a z835-p330. Any advice?

    Disconnect AC

    Shutdown

    Remove battery

    Connect AC

    Startup

Under the Batteries category, right-click all of the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery listings, and select Uninstall (it’s ok if you only have 1).

    Shutdown

    Disconnect AC

    Insert battery

    Connect AC

    Startup

If doesn't work, I'm afraid your battery was already dead, you need to purchase a new one.

I just checked the manual and on the same page one instruction says to remove the battery then another says the battery is not accessible. LOL

"If the AC power light flashes amber during charging, either the main

battery is malfunctioning, or it is not receiving correct input from the

AC power supply. Disconnect the AC power cord/cable and remove the main battery."

"The computer battery is not accessible by user"

From what I can see online there is no way to remove the battery without taking the laptop apart (which I wouldn't recommend if it's still under warranty).

I wasn't able to find any information if there was a reset button that would allow you to reset. In my experience most devices that have internal batteries that cannot be removed they usually have a small pinhole that you can press to reset it. Have a look and see if there's a small hole that a paperclip can fit into that might reset it.

Other than that you'll probably have to contact Toshiba.

    Take care,

    Shannon
