Does not shutting computer off properly cause slowness?

Battery is dead on computer so have to keep it plugged in. a lot of times ill be moving around and it will accidently unplug. what kind of problems does this cause.

Ive defragged the computer and disk clean up and stuff because the computer has gotten so slow.

Also does pressing the power button til it shuts off or closing the laptop lid count as properly shutting off the computer? These are the way i usuallly do it when the cord doesnt come out but i do use the start up menu shut off version too,

or do you think slowness maybe more to blame?

also if there is anything you can recommend to get my computer more fast i would love you til forever. thanks

if you need any further info just let me know :)

Closing the lid will usually put the laptop to sleep or make it hibernate, not shut it off.

Although a lot of work has been done to make PCs stay fast even when they've been on for a long time, in general you do get better performance if you shut it down occasionally. For this purpose, hibernating does NOT count as a proper shutdown, but holding down the power button or taking out the cord (when there's no battery power) does. However, shutting it off via the Start menu (or equivalent) lets the machine arrange things properly before shutting off the power. Holding down the power button or taking out the cord will tend to cause more stress on the hardware and more unexpected things in the software, both of which are bad. When you need to shut it down, you should do so using the Start menu if at all possible.

If your computer gets slow soon after startup and stays that way, there's probably more to it than just staying on too long. People tend to install a lot of crap on their computers and the crap eventually builds up and drains resources. You should take proper care of your computer by disabling or removing software components that aren't doing you any good. For instance, don't run too many security programs at once (they tend to interfere with each other), and have a look through the 'services' and 'scheduled tasks' lists to see if there's anything there that you won't miss if you disable it. Finally, malware can slow a computer down a lot, so if you think you might have gotten some, run a virus scan.

What can happen when you don't shut down the computer properly is the disks inside the hard drive can get scratched from the arm that reads the info off the hard drive. If this happens then the drive will try and read those scratches to see if they are the data you are looking for, which makes the search take longer slowing the computer down. Pressing the power button til it shuts off is not a proper way. If the power settings are set to shut down the computer when you close the lid that is a proper shutdown but you have to let it shut all the way down before you unplug it.

To speed up your system try the two programs CCleaner and Malwarebytes both are free and really good to clean up your system.

The BIOS controls this. it stands for "effortless enter and Output gadget", and that's the actual pc component to the pc. it can have safe practices good factors, to close down your pc, at the same time as aspects receives to warm. you could't override this, because it really is a secure practices function. you could acquire speed FAN. a small software which video demonstrate instruments the TEmps on your pc. common Jo, must have a images card round 52C idle, a Processor round 32C-40C, and chipset round 50C. if that's more effective then that, purchase extra followers.

    it's not all so simple.

from continuos working, the fan brushes and the bearings will wear out.

the plastic around the connectors and printed circuit boards will deteriorate from constant heat for continues periods of time. It will become brittle, so it can lose contact from next vibration shock.

screen, if on, will lose the brightness... laptop open, will accumulate lots of dust between the keys and possibly inside, depending on the model...
