my laptop will not take my password?

    Make sure you don't have capslock on or something like that.

    But if your drive has gotten scrambled enough for the password to not work, then you need to reinstall the OS anyway. You pick a new password in the process.

    It is probable that you have forgotten the correct word. From www.trinityhome.com download trinity rescue disk and burn a live CD. Boot your computer with this Live CD and recover your pass word.

    and make sure your caps lock is off also
