Jessica, It's going to depend on what you're wanting to hunt. There are wild turkey out near the Palomar Observatory (head east on Hwy 76) there are dove, quail, ducks, geese and rabbits out in Imperial County and there is some feral hog hunting out near Riverside and up North of LA. Only thing to hunt around Encinitas and Carlsbad are Sea Gulls (kidding) and Sand heads (Surfers and again just kidding)
