Is Ian Kinsler the most under rated player today?

After taking some time to skim through some stats, raw stats and Saber-metric, I've realized how good of a player Ian Kinsler is. He's already had two 30 homer seasons which is very impressive at a power drained position. He does have a decent career batting avg of .276. Which is a fair trade when you take into account that he walks a lot and has a career On Base of .357. He also has never struck out more than 83 times in a season and that was in 2007. And he's a very stable defender. I always hear names like Cano, Uggla and Brandon Philips when I hear discussions about who's the best second baseman, but I'd probably take Kinsler over most of those guys.

Maybe not most, but definetely undervalued. He's the leadoff hitter for the best team in baseball. Great defensively, has great power, great speed, and usually hits for a great average. The Rangers wouldn't be nearly as good as they are without Kinsler.

Kinsler did not win the MVP for some motives: a million. He grow to be plauged with injuries 2. he's underrated because he performs for a small-marketplace crew 3. Dustin had a extra advantageous than expertise 3 hundred and sixty 5 days 4. The MVP is going to a participant that permits his crew win, and the Rangers do not (do you blame him, regardless of the reality that? Pedroia had Youkilis, Beckett, Papelbon, Bay/Ramirez, and others, and Kinsler had Hamilton). merely look on the numbers. very last 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, Kinsler's injuries compelled him to 121 video games, at the same time as Pedroia performed 157. How did the numbers look? Kinsler nonetheless had extra homeruns, runs batted in, stolen bases, and triples. He had a 5-aspect a lot less common, yet his OBP and SLG beat out Dustin's by plenty. Now enable's look on the averages (all switched over to 162 video games, Kinsler's totals first, Dustin's second) Homeruns (23 to fourteen) RBI's (80 5 to sixty 8) OBP (.364 to .365) SLG (.485 to .454) SB (26 to fourteen) TB (302 to 285) R (117 to 104) BB (sixty 4 to fifty 2) The batting common totals are very, very close, too. besides those, Kinsler also has extra advantageous IBB, GIDP, HBP and SH numbers. His OPS+ is likewise extra advantageous than Pedroia's by a quite huge margin. Dustin performed in a miles extra advantageous hitters' ballpark, too. also, he's a better participant. Their SB possibilities are both incredible (ninety one% for Pedroia, and Kinsler is 87%, even if Kinsler has a lot extra SBs). also, Kinsler takes an more effective base on a unmarried extra usually than Pedroia. Granted, Dustin is a extra advantageous fielder, by somewhat a respectable margin. even if, Kinsler has a lot, a lot, a lot extra advantageous decision element numbers. he's were given extra advantageous decision, and he's a outstanding participant. i imagine that's quite sparkling that Kinsler is extra advantageous.

I disagree. I always hear Cano, Pedroia, and Kinsler in the discussions of who is the best 2B in baseball. I have never hear anyone put Brandon Phillips or Dan Uggla ahead of Kinsler. If someone did that, I would agree that would be disrespecting Kinsler.
