better to park a manual transmission in gear or in neutral?

I have been driving automatic cars for a while but just bought a standard Honda Civic. Just curious if there is really any difference to parking it in neutral with the e-brake on versus parking it in gear.

thanks

Park the car with the transmission in 1st gear along with the e-brake. The gear ratio in the transmission will make it difficult for the car to roll.

In gear. Then you're not counting on just the e-brake to keep your car out of the river.

Park in first or reverse, AND use the parking brake.

If your car is pointing downhill, use first. If your car is pointing uphill, use reverse.

On level ground, use either gear.

Def in gear. Don't wanna go outside and see that your car has rolled away.

Never park in neutral, it'll roll.
