County Tax Foreclosure Sale N.Y. What about other Liens on the property?

Does anybody know the Law about buying County Tax Sale Foreclosed properties in New York State what if there is a bank that has a mortgage on the property? or other lien holders , if I buy one of these at the tax auction is the property free and clear of previous liens?

    If the property is seized and sold by the county for unpaid taxes, all other liens are extinguished by the tax sale. For that reason, any lienholders normally will be on hand for the tax sale in order to protect their interests, assuming of course that the property is worth more than the outstanding tax debt.
