Can infected anal glands cause diarrhea?

For about one and a half days my dog has had very, very, very watery diarrhea which she does not seem to be able to control. A few days ago I noticed a yellowy thick discharge coming from her privates but I didn't take her to the vet because it went away by itself. Today I noticed it again, in addition to the diarrhea. She has had this watery diarrhea before, without the discharge though. After we got her fixed it didn't happen again. The last time she had it was in november, and before that in august, so I guess it is recurring, but not frequently. Each time we have taken her to the vet and they give her antibiotics and we feed her the bland diet and it goes away. We haven't taken her to the vet yet because it is so expensive each time, but I was just wondering if the anal glands could be the cause this time? I also began to notice the discharge a few days after we took her to be groomed, could that be a factor as well? She is a year and 3 months old if that matters. Thanks!

Sounds like you have something in your house or yard that is affecting your dog in a bad way. Find out what she is chewing on. Some dog toys we buy with good intentions end up coming from China and carry pollutants. They find them in children's toys all the time.

You shouldn't have problems with an infected anal gland if this is cleaned regularly. Some species of dogs need it done more than others, but it should be a regular part of grooming. And you might consider trying a new groomer, since it is possible that the establishment you used is not sanitary in its practices.

i could be taking the canines to a diverse vet for a 2d opinion. I actual have observed canines on completely dry foodstuff diets or tinned foodstuff are extra companies to gland an infection. i could be including a sprint of olive oil on a daily basis to his foodstuff & additionally an egg & a can of sardines as quickly as a week. additionally widely used exercising helps forestall them from getting contaminated additionally imho. save their behinds properly trimmed & frequently convey the glands once you supply the canines it is fortnightly bathtub additionally. yet it is all extra approximately prevention & atm you go with a therapy so hit upon a sparkling vet asap could be my propose to you. Then as quickly as he's extra effective start up with incorporating my suggestions on your universal domestic dog habitual to objective & end a reinfection. As whilst they have had contaminated anal glands they are in a position to tend to have the an infection reoccur oftentimes i've got observed this in a number of the rescue canines i've got dealt with interior the previous.

If its anal glands the discharge will smell horribly like stinky fish.feed her some white rice cooke as directed,if she won't eat it plain add a little bit of 1% low fat cottage cheese to it.or if you have hamburger boil it rinse it and mix it in the rice.then no food for at least 6 hours.just water or even gatorade.i have found dogs like grape best. i do this for my dogs when ever they runs or are vomiting it works like a charm.and my vet recommended it.still call vet asap if it doesn't stop

diarrhea can cause infected anal glands. Infected anal glands cause swelling, the dog tends to scoot their butts across the floor, and they excessively lick their privates. If she doesn't display these symptoms, she might not have infected anal glands. Anal glands do not generally cause diarrhea though
