Why does my paint project smell? And can I fix it?

I wanted to change my grey metal stools brown to match my kitchen. I used aerosol brown paint, that I bought new. I sprayed them outside, and brought them in when they were dry. Ever since, they have stunk up the place, with a smell oddly, most akin to B.O. I scrubbed them with soap, then bleach, then left them in the bright sun for over a week. Nothing I have tried will get rid of the smell. HELP!

Try spraying the stools with a different makers paint. It should seal in the other paint smell. Ask when you buy to test the smell of the paint before you buy.
