GPA for high school sophomore?
Ok, so I just finished my sophomore year with I think a cumulative GPA of 3.6(w) and 3.5(uw)
These were my grades in 9th and 10th grade:
9th
Adv. Phys. science= B, B
Adv. US Gov and OK history= A, A
Pre AP Eng. I= A, A
Algebra= A,A
10th (block schedule)
AP Eng. II= A,A
Geometry= A,B
Biology= B,A
AP World= B,B,B (3 term class)
Algebra II= B,B
Spanish III=B, C
I'm not sure if these classes count, but I used them while figuring out my GPA above ande the second two classes are required to graduate..
International Affairs= A
(req.)Fine art= A
(req.)Financial Literacy= A
I did pretty bad this year, but do you think I could raise to a 3.8 (unweighted) by the end of senior year? I know I will have less high school classes senior year because I am going to try to do concurrent enrollment in a college. Oh, I'm taking the ACT for the first time June 9.
As for extra curricular activities, last year I played tennis and was in 3 clubs(including Beta club), and I volunteered at the hospital last summer. This year, I was in 7 clubs(Beta club again), and I'm going to volunteer at a Kitten rescue place.
***So, basically what I want to ask is that:
Is it possible for me to raise my unweighted GPA to a 3.8 by senior year?
Does having bad grades this year really affect my chances of getting into a college? (OSU, Stillwater)

Those aren't bad grades at all! You really have nothing to worry about cause you could easily get a 3.8 or a 3.9 (maybe even a 4.0) by the end of senior year, as long as you don't start slacking off.
You're also involved in a lot of clubs, which is good. It won't help towards your GPA of course, but it will help you later on for college.
I'm taking the ACT in June, too. Good luck and keep up the good work! :)

wise people could be so ignorant. a three.8 GPA is brilliant for prime college and do not allow each person allow you to comprehend any different. maximum colleges will settle for round a three.2 or so, countless the better ideal faculties a three.5 and extremely few colleges seek for a three.8 or better ideal. there is not any way each man or woman can get a 4.0 in extreme college and colleges do not forget that. A GPA isn't each thing. With all those better curricular events and a three.8, i'd say you may get into any college you want! best of luck to you and desire this helps!

Yea a 3.5-3.6 looks about right. Yes its very possible to raise your unweighted GPA. First off, having those grades are college material. You are aware you can easily get into colleges with those grades. OSU will easily take you. Btw, college really wants to see improvement from sophomore to senior year. If you keep improving, your GPA will go higher, you will get into a better college.

you could definitely raise that to a 3.8 or even higher by senior year if you finished sophomore with a 3.6
i would take 2 ap's junior year (lit and environmental science) if you school offers it. they're not that bad. and those will really boost your gpa.
