How will this affect my overall GPA average?

So I am a freshman and I had a really rough years. I am not going to even go into details but I just had a lot of financial, home, and personal life. That affected my GPA immensely, I got a 2.4 first semester and a 2.1 second semester. I am in this program called IB, and it is close to impossible to get a 4.0. So I am wondering how can I save my GPA because I really need a 3.5 because I am really committed to higher education. I already know the simple answers of try really hard but would a 3.4 or lower affect chances of me getting into college?

Update:

Another question I forgot to ask is will it affect how I get scholarships?

This website http://www.foothill.edu/counseling/gpacalc.php allows you to enter in all your grades/unit taken and give you an overall gpa calculation. For classes you have not take, enter them in, and the grade you wish to have, and then submit to see your overall GPA.

In terms of whether or not a 3.4 will get you into college, it really depends on the college you wish to attend. If you want to get into extremely competitive college, your chance is pretty tough, but do keep in mind that a GPA isn't the only factor in a college application. You have extracurricular acitivies/ personal statement/ letter of rec/ etc etc... Even if your GPA isn't a 4.0 (or a 3.5 in your case), those other factors can really affect how the college make their decision.

Being a sophomore college already at a community college, I am really, really glad I attended a community college. I had a lot of friends who attended a university, and would really wish they start at the cc level first. but then again, that really depend on the person. My point here is.... It'd be great if you get into the college of your choice, but if you don't, please don't be disappointed. You might seem like you're at a "dead end" now, but trust me, soon as you get to college, you will realize how many doors open your way.

Good -luck, and feel free to let me know if you need more info. Best wishes!

I have additionally noticeable the declaration approximately being in well educational status at final university in tuition programs. I feel that is to hinder individuals from leaving one sinking send at the back of and leaping onto a different. You will probably be sending transcripts from each LBSU and CC and I don't feel you get to opt for and select which grades to comprise. The predicament you've got is twofold. First, I am assuming that you were not in well educational status whilst you left LBSU, with a purpose to emerge as a predicament whilst making use of. Second, if your whole grades depend, then your GPA might not be top adequate to be aggressive. Do you qualify for TAG (switch admission assurance), incidentally? If you certainly ought to repair each issues, you'll ought to reapply to LBSU. I feel they've an additional method for readmission and in case you have been doing good at a CC, then I do not see why they cannot readmit you. Perhaps you'll attend one or 2 semesters and retake the guides that you simply acquired D or F. That method, you'll repair the GPA and likewise gain well educational status. It will most commonly carry again dangerous reminiscences to return again but when you'll do good after which switch, it is going to deliver you a way of closure.
