I'm scared! I think I'm going to get type 2 diabetes?

I'm a 14 yr old, 5'2, 115 lb female. Healthy weight. However, my diet SUCKS. My old diet was nothing but pizza, and hot pockets, and ice cream, and all that junk... Now, it's a lot better, but it's still horrible )=

Morning: omelet made w/2 eggs, a little bit of cheddar cheese, and turkey; 1 banana

Snack: some candy usually gotten at school (around 1-2 fun sized snickers bars, or something)

lunch: turkey+cheddar+romaine lettuce+tomatoes on whole wheat; carrots

Snack: peach+honey yogurt

dinner: 2 bowls cheddar broccoli soup w/ 2-4 slices of sourdough

dessert: something like 3 large (not huge, but not exactly a standard "chips ahoy" either!) cookies and/or ice cream

I'm still eating a lot of junk, and I think I might get diabetes. As it stands, I don't feel anything from eating sugar. Most of my friends will get a stomach ache, head ache, SOMETHING, after eating a bunch of junk. I DON'T, and that has me really worried.

But I don't want to change my diet )= I LOOOVE sugar so much... and carbs.... ARGH. Do you have any advise on how to cope with eating less sugar ^.^? And... I'm not really sure about what I should be eating... can you help me figure out what foods I should replace? And, most importantly, how at risk am I currently for diabetes? Thanks!

I just read a book that would be perfect for you, called "50 Diabetes Myths That Can Ruin Your Life."

Meanwhile, here is a brief answer: you are not at risk for getting type 2 diabetes based on what you told us. The biggest risk factor is, does it run in your family?

Now, that doesn't mean you won't ever get it, of course--no one can promise that. BUT, what you need to know is that Diabetes is NOT EVER caused by what you eat. So stop worrying.

What made you start thinking about this?

We all love sugar and carbs and all that, but, if you want to eat healthier, the way to do that is something you could easily find out by doing a little research.

I got type 1 at age 29, 17 yes ago. My diet was never perfect, but I was never a big sweets person.

I'm a 45 year old woman and was recently diagnosed as being a borderline diabetic. My doctor prescribed some medication, but before filling it I decided to do some research on the internet which led me to the methods. After reading this ebook and applying the methods, my scepticism turned to 100% belief. I noticed that my energy levels increased significantly and I felt more rested in the morning, my symptoms started going away.

I am very happy to tell you that I have been feeling better than I have felt in years and my doctor informed me that he will be taking me off my prescriptions if I keep this up.

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

What you eat doesn't cause diabetes so if that is what is causing you to think you will get it stop thinking that way now.
