Should I still go on vacation with my cousins if she has mono?
Every year at at the beginning of summer my cousins take me to the Colorado river with them for a few days and it is a lot of fun. Today I learned my cousin has mono and I don't know if i should go anymore. I recently met this girl and we already agreed we are going to have the an amazing summer together but if I end up getting mono I wouldn't be able to kiss her at all and we are both leaving for college at the end of summer so won't see her for a while!. And the river trip is what I look forward to every year it is my favorite place on earth.
Should I still go and risk getting mono and not being able to have an amazing summer with this girl I really like?
I'm 17 male just graduated and yes my cousin with mono is definitely going
Mono can also be spread by saliva and stuff so if she coughs and it gets on something and I touch it I might get it.

Your friend having mono should make no difference. As long as she feels OK, go for it. Something to keep in mind is that you very likely already have the virus, even if you never had the disease. Most of us (at least 50%) are infected asymptomatically when young. We infected 50% occasionally shed the virus in your saliva, passing it along. There is at least a possibility that your friend got it from you. So relax, go on vacation, and whatever.
