Need help with skyrim?

I have a ps3 with somewhere around 150 gb of free space. What's wrong is that when I try to drop or equip an item no matter what it is it takes somewhere around three to eight seconds for it to do what I want. Now the hard way around this takes about 30 minutes to do. And I do it by having two save files of the same character laoding on then the other the first one I load is the one that has the trouble, and it takes somewhere around 30minutes to load. What I want to know is how do I fix or avoid this it has happend one time before and both accounts where khajeets and somewhere around level 40. Please help and I also want to know how to clear my catch if it's possible.
